Just a clarification about Philadelphians' feelings about Dallas, TX.

The topic of Dallas, TX rarely comes up in conversations among Philadelphians, and when it does, people don't generally think of the city of Dallas negatively. It's just a big city in Texas, like Houston or San Antonio - - they're all regarded about the same.

Austin is considered very special among Philly music buffs because of its great music scene.

Hardly anyone there "hates" Dallas. Yes, Eagles fans in Philly "love to hate" the Dallas Cowboys, but they also "love to hate" the NY Giants. At times in the past, they used to "love to hate" the Redskins, as well.

It's just a NFL football rivalry thing.

Temple's main rivals are not in Texas, but are more regional to the Northeastern U.S. (e.g., [/u]Rutgers, Villanova, UConn).

I wrote it in response to the post titled "Philly Hates Dallas," to try to avoid inflaming tensions between Temple and SMU, and to avoid giving anyone the impression that people in Philadelphia generally have negative feelings toward people in Dallas.

The author of that thread, FishPro, is a Temple fan, but very few Temple students or staff harbor any ill will toward Dallas. As a Temple alumnus, I don't want other AAC fans to think that Temple fans generally "hate" any member.

If it seems unhelpful, please feel free to delete it. If you do, perhaps you could ask FishPro to change the title of his thread to something less inflammatory, such as this:

"Philly (loves to) hate Dallas."

or this: "Philly hates Dallas (Cowboys)"

Please stop posting. For the love of god, enough.
