CNN reported on Thursday that Rep, Cummings signed subpoenas directed to two US immigration agencies just hours before he died.

In one of his last official acts before his death, the late House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings signed two subpoenas for documents related to a temporary end to a policy change that allowed some immigrants with severe health issues to remain in the US.

Hours before his passing, staffers drove the subpoenas to Baltimore for Cummings’ signature, said a Democratic committee aide.

“Chairman Cummings felt so strongly about the children, that he was going to fight until the end,” said the aide.

A couple weeks ago, Chairman Cummings sent Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani a subpoena-letter demanding he produce documents related to Ukraine.

Somebody should be going to prison for signing those, unless they have POA. Couldn't imagine a POA working on a congressional document.

Those are so not his signatures.

Pretty sure there is a medical record that states if he was even alert or conscious or not during the time of those signatures.

You would think a signature on an important legal document might require a notary or witness. Not sure how those work with Congressional signatures, but guess they aren't needed.

I have to say, I really don't think this was on the up and up.

My father in law died in 2008, and signed some of his books (he had written a couple books) for my kids while he was in hospice care. Those signatures look nothing like his signatures when he was in good health. Also, if someone was going to forge them, they would look a lot better wouldn't they?

Whether he was in the right frame of mind to be signing subpoenas on his deathbed is a far more interesting debate in my opinion.

My father had to sign stuff before he died. You barely could read it. Im guessing the signatures are legit for a man on his death bed.

Pretty obvious the Attestor is the Signator.
