Can't believe Boise stayed in the top 25, no less ahead of App State. App State, and BSU probably, won't get the Access Bowl unless the AAC winner has 3 losses and they have none. I also can't believe Wisconsin didn't drop further after a really bad loss. SMU should be ahead of them

AP Poll out as well, see SMU 16th, Cincy 18th, Memphis 26th, Navy 31st, UCF 35th, and Tulane 37th. Memphis got screwed!

Memphis definitely deserves to be in given how they lost on the road and an otherwise undefeated record.

Yes they did. Memphis should be ahead of Boise.

RE: Coaches Poll has 3 AAC teams
I know fans of other conferences might think we are crazy, but this is why our league pushes the P6 narrative. We have 7 teams right now that are absolutely playing "P5" level football and while I don't think any of them would win a P5 conference this year, they would hold their own. And minus Clemson, I absolutely think the AAC is a better league this year than the ACC.

So we have two Top 20 opponents left at Home. I'm thankful they are playing us here in Memphis. Kick the tires and light some fires, we are going to have some fun football down the stretch.

Boise State’s signature win is over a terrible Florida State team who just squeaked by ULM 45-44. The same ULM team App St. just thrashed 52-7. They should not be ranked!

Navy (#29), Tulane (#32), UCF (#36), and Temple (#37) also received votes (AAC total: 7 teams)
A total of 5 G5 teams were in the top 25, and 11 G5 teams received votes.
21. Boise St.
22. Appalachian State
================
NOTE: Most pre-season top 25 lists included only UCF & Boise St.
For the umpteenth year, they underestimated the AAC and the G5.

Obviously, this scenario is contingent on Boise and Appy winning out. Memphis has both SMU and Cincy remaining on our home schedule. If Memphis wins both and Boise or Appy wins out, can we leap frog them due to our SOS? Has the Committee ever "leap-frogged" one G5 over another.

In weekly polls, sure. A two loss BSU was ranked higher than an undefeated Marshall in the first year. Remember the first CFP poll hasn’t come out yet. It can and has differed from human polls in the past. A couple of years ago, they really did NOT like USF’s sos and kept them out week after week even though they were ranked in both the AP and Coaches polls most of the year. Also, they decided to delay the decision for the G5 spot even though WMU was undefeated and Navy had two losses at the time. WMU was ahead in the CFP, but Navy was gaining on them. It would have been interesting to see that scenario had it held up (Navy won out). At the very least, a two loss Navy was still very much in contention in their eyes. Another wrinkle is the Ark. St. AD is on the committee beg. this year. It’ll be interesting to see if he influences any of their typical talking points.
ETA: In 2016, the committee jumped both a one loss BSU and 2 loss UH over an undefeated WMU in one of the weekly polls. So yeah, they have leap-frogged G5’s.

A one loss ECU was ranked highet than Boise, Marshall and Colorado State that year. If ECU would have won out or even h as d another loss then they would have gotten the bid because even after getting the second loss that year ECU was still ranked higher than Boise State and Marshall. The same thing happened the year that WMU was undefeated and Navy had two losses. Which shows that the AAC is just an over stronger conference than the other G5s.
At some point they are going to have to give the AAC an auto bid because it is going to be to difficult for the other G5s to get the New Year's day game.
