31 saves, .939 save % for Bussi.

Last year, Austin Cain gave up 5 goals and had a .722 save % in our first game vs BGSU.

I think we found a goalie boys!

Yes!! I didn’t get to watch any of the games this weekend but sounds like he was solid all weekend and made some big saves when tested. Early confidence from a freshman goalie is huge! Very impressive

There's a chance tying OSU and playing BG instead of RIT could be a net positive in the pairwise by the end of it.

#2 behind Denver in the pairwise this morning! Doesn't mean a lot this early but better than #38 where we stood yesterday morning.

Always tough to beat an opponent three straight times... just have to start with a win on Friday!

Don’t have to win 3 in a row, have to win 1 in a row, 3 times

Been busy!

Still, only reason we're ranked high is small sample size. Will go down once more games are played and more teams beat good teams.

RE: BUGS game 1 of 3
Heard one of the two missing D men might be back next weekend.
My view of the weekend :
Bussi is looking quite good so far hope his consistency will be as solid as he was this weekend .
The two new D men , Attard and Brickey look really solid and i always liked Joy on D in his USHL days so i think we are really set back there.
Up front we need to stack up two lines of offence cause when we get against tougher teams it becomes harder to score . Then put together one energy line and one shut down line .
Dep Rusch Alli , Frank Hugh Passolt , Van Os Worrad Polin then Lawton Washe and Rome as a shut down checking line .

We just try to balance lines and role all four but against strong teams that does not work .
The team looks as strong individually as we have had in recent memory it is just a matter of trying to figure out what will work best for the team success .

USCHO podcast talking about this past weekends games and one of them was at the ice breaker tournament . Said he was at the tournament and ohio won the tournament but Western was the best team there . The other guy on there said he was at Minn D this weekend and talking to his guys there and they said Western will be dangerous and could make some noise . Starts at 10 min 30 sec mark https://www.uscho.com/podcasts/2019/10/1...episode-2/

Sup I agree with you on Andy not “shortening the bench”. Listening to this weeks presser he talked about rolling 4 lines. I mean that’s good but when the games on the line, you need to shorten the bench and play your best players. I think that’s what cost us against OSU. Although this team has depth, you gotta play your best players when the game is on the line. I hope AM realizes this more when we play our NCHC schedule otherwise we are gonna lose big games.

You are correct. Pairwise, final RPI, the Neutral site tie vs OSU is weighted X 1.0 and the road win vs BGU was weighted X 1.2.

That being said, the results of the next two games vs BGU could have a huge impact on WMU year end pairwise calculation. Case in point, you change last years home loss vs. BGU to a win, WMU would of advanced to the NCAA tournament.

Don't panic. Murray's offensive pairings early on will be different come end of season, along with how he manages the ice time of those lines. There is a method to his madness.

It was good for the team to get some other players involved early on in the season gaining some valuable experience that could pay off towards end of year. Was also an opportunity for some players to step up and show what than can do.

I agree with this.

Some of the complaints about Murray in past years is he wears the team down as the year goes on. If that is a valid criticism and we have a ton of depth, why wouldn't we utilize all 4 lines early in the season? Aren't we trying to peak at the end of the season?

It is more of a mental wear down than physical , as a poster on here has stated but constantly gets ripped for .04-chairshot
I'm have just gotten tired of peaking half way thru the season and crapping the bed at the end . This team has talent and should be able to go deep but time will tell . Go Bronco's Go !!!!
