UNCW vs UNC Tickets
Just curious, for the non-season ticket holders, who made out with UNC game tickets this week? Thankfully BoogieWoogie and I landed ours today. 75 bones a piece.

Looking forward to catching this game, the one in Davidson, and the CofC game at Trask in February. Anyone going to the Davidson game/social?

Hopefully the program makes some good money off this game. Furthermore, hopefully they use that money wisely.

I hope not. I think most sold to date are consistent Seahawk club contributors. I don't think there are going to be that many seats available once released to general public on 10/24. I don't blame them for milking this a little and I don't mind paying the $75 a ticket given that they guaranteed me 4 tickets based on my giving level.

I understand why people would be annoyed or upset with the price though.

Why are you assuming $75 for premium game tickets are above Seahawk fans?

That’s insulting.

I heard a rumor that they're only selling 200 tickets to the public. I bought season tickets this year so I will be there. Most important thing, if you have extra tickets DON'T GIVE THEM to UNC FANS. Idc how good of friends they are... You're only contributing to the problem if you do.

The question is how many local Seahawk Club members are UNC alumni? Wilmington residents that give and support UNCW basketball, but are alumnus of the Tar Holes.

Also, please not allow any student into the game with a Tar Hole shirt please. That is the biggest problem.

I agree. This game should be all about UNCW with as much teal as possible. Want to see Trask rocking like days of old.

Not at all. I don't like the fact that they are price gouging folks that have supported the program through thick(and a lot of thin!)

The point of bringing in a big game to Trask like this is to make money. I take no issue with it.

Make money off the other folks, not Seahawk club donors with status.

Had to pay $60 more per season Tix for this.

RE: UNCW vs UNC Tickets
We all want to keep the heels fans out of Trask but we all agree we should make money off of this event. How do you do both without making Seahawk club members pay? The ticket release to the public is going to be very small.

Seahawk Club members got first shot at seats based on lifetime giving. I think there are several things to complain about with this program. Overall on the court product, poor defense, crap CAA TV deal, etc. I don't think this is a big deal.

EDIT: Maybe they could have added a "Thank You" tier? X number of points + X consecutive years with season tickets... get the ticket for standard price. People at that level probably wouldn't blink at the extra $60.

Probably not a big deal, just my opinion. If i still lived there and had season tickets, I'd be pissed paying more because the whine n cheesers are coming to town. But, maybe that's just me

Fair enough. I've never owned season tickets but would if I lived near Wilmington.

I had them the 8 years i lived there, but same situation now. Hoping to get back that way in the next few years.

Yes. It’s just you and your incredible discontent for anything UNC. Don’t make a mistake, I’m pro UNCW for anything and everything, but you take hate of UNC to an all new level. To the point you’re never objective at all in terms of the UNC fan base. Having actually grown up in the state, the vast majority of my friends that are either UNC alum or fans of them aren’t at all how you generally describe them all with a broad brush. Some of them, yes. However you’re hating on all of them based on your limited experience with the bad apples.

The fact that i had no ill will towards UNC whatsoever until i moved here should tell you all you need to hear. Perhaps growing up here you just grew used to it? For the record, having been here 19 years now, I'm probably pretty close to you in regards to the amount of time of my life spent in NC.
And also for the record, I'd have the same thought if it was any other big name team coming, Kentucky, Kansas, etc. I just don't think the people that have kept them afloat should be penalized.

Perhaps that last statement there is where we differ. As an alum of the school, a contributing Seahawk Club member (and I've not attended a game at Trask since I was a student) we see things from a different perspective here. The athletic department making more money which in turn is spent on athletics is not a "penalty" as you put it. I see this game and everything surrounding it as a bonus. Sorry, if I disagree with your whining perspective on the additional cost of a ticket to a game that you're not even attending.

Would you rather us schedule ECU or some other crap program that won't make the school anything close to the revenue this one game will bring us? Give me a break dude. You're just fishing for something to whine about.

Every year, I give the Seahawk club hundreds of dollars. Do I get anything from it? No. I don't have the regionally located luxury to attend games. However, I do get the personal satisfaction that my contribution helps the program and school athletics as a whole. If I were in Wilmington, would I pay the $60-$75 dollars to go see that game? Absolutely. I'd pay more than that actually, solely to see the game and the personal satisfaction that my money is going to a good cause.

Is it? I'm sure it's contributing to CB's contract, Good is very debatable at this point.
I'm not fishing for something to "whine" about. I don't think they should be charged more. We differ in opinion, and that's fine. If I still had season tickets, i'd likely pay it too, but doesn't mean i would be happy about it! Nor should i have to be
