RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
They may want to think about going "big" a little bit depending on what they learn in the exhibition games. We will either have to play fast or get Dodd ready to log 20 to 25 as a freshman playing alongside Marty if we don't board. Something to think about anyways. We shall see. I'm old school but Keatts made it work but played ultra fast. Ingram and Talley, plus Bryce and Flemmngs made it easier. Going to be fun seeing what happens. Dodd loves the game so he will get his chance. I do like some of the pieces we have, really do. And, the guy coming looks terrific, but getting boards is my biggest concern going forward. Sims,Bowen and Boggs will have to be ready too to get caroms.

There’s an old joke that goes like this:

Worried that their son was too optimistic, the parents of a little boy took him to a psychiatrist. In an attempt to dampen the boy’s spirits, the psychiatrist showed him into a room piled high with nothing but horse manure. Instead of displaying distaste, the little boy clambered to the top of the pile and began digging.

“What are you doing?” the psychiatrist asked.

“With all this manure,” the little boy replied, beaming, “there must be a pony in here somewhere.”

Not only did we lose to a hoops juggernaut, we gave up 80+. Looks like that
D is in mid season form. For those wondering, it was a team that barely was .500 last season in the big south and averaged 75ppg in the big south

RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
I agree that giving up 81 points is not good defense. If Hawks can't get stops, they won't be successful. I They need to consider playing only the guys that can defend the best. If live ball TO's were leading to run-outs, that's a bit different, but still another problem to deal with.

Wonder if and when Ty will be back? You could always count on him to give all that he could give anyways. He gets the most out of his ability.

In somewhat related news. Duke sqeeked by D2 power foe Northern Missouri State 69-63 in an open public exhibition. Not a closed scrimmage. Guess Duke should write off any chances of winning anything this year. Because they must truly suck. ????

Apples to oranges. A coach who always figures it out with K, and a coach who quite honestly hasn't figured out how to get out of his own way. We are looking for something, anything to give us some hope. But it just seemingly gets worse.

Have you seen anything with this team? Have you seen a single practice? None of us will see the true product until when the games really count. You know I love you man. But all I I've seen you looking for in your posts is failure. I do understand we don't process a coaching staff the same way. I've taken the same approach with every coach we've ever had. There's grumblings with every new HC, including Wainwright, Brownell and Keatts. There's been grumblings with all the coaches who failed here from the day they walked in the door. I refuse to compound any problem before a coach has a chance to prove themselves and their system. This year CB has all his players. And it's time to produce. Once I see the product on the floor, I may march right beside you and call for change. After this season, there will be more leverage to make a change. We have had no choice but to be encouraging for our players in particular. We have not been in position to buy out a contract.
To be alarmed by a BS closed scrimmage score is just laughable. That's the last thing coaches care about in closed doors especially. It's about trying things to see what might work for the team. It's testing individuals in situations to see how they respond. And it's about seeing what combinations may work in real game situations. It's never about seeing how you can blow out the team you're scrimmaging with. I've been to some practices and have seen them working on what has been their weaknesses. Now I need to see if they can produce in real games.
