Don’t know. Our best chance is HAWKING with intel, since these are technically “closed scrimmages” and he seems to have some sources with the program. Goodman has tweeted some results from today, but doubtful he tweets the results of us playing a non D1. He compiled a master list of all D1 schools scrimmages.

I've seen most practices. He's got the most talent coupled with size and has been playing both the 1 & 2. Causes problems for everyone he's matched up against in practice. Watched him at Brewster too. Solid pick up for UNCW.

Thanks. I’ve seen one too many highlight reels to bother basing my conclusions on them. Call me a realist. Or maybe I’m slightly jaded these days. This is what I was hoping to hear.

RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
Serious question. When you look at our lineup, how do we differ from a d2 team?

I'd like to think our talent level would be higher. Look at their roster, they're actually bigger than us... I don't want to overreact over the result of a scrimmage, I just really hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
Need WAY more information than just that they lost. Who actually played? Did all play? What was style of play? Starter vs starters and for how long? Need at least some detail or it doesn’t mean anything.

They are a D2 school. If it is true that our talent level is superior, does it really matter who played or started or for how long? Does it really matter style of play? We only have three Freshmen and everyone else was a starter last year or a transfer who has played D1 ball.

I realize it's a scrimmage, but with our losing ways the past 2 years, i'd rather hear we won. If word came back we won, i'm sure we'd all feel better than hearing we lost.

Spot on, I don't know how you can say it doesn't mean anything. CB has given us nothing in his previous 2 seasons to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. This is definitely concerning to say the least.

This ^^^^^^

We can't continue to ignore red flags. Benefit if the doubt is earned at this point.

RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
Here's the thing. It should matter to McGrath since word would get out and the players walk off the court knowing they lost to a school they would turn their nose up to as D1 players.. We need to start establishing a winning culture and a winning attitude. Scrimmage or not, losing to a D2 team is not part of a winning culture.

I don’t disagree but it would be good to know what was good/not good. If you’re a coach, you want to see what works. If you lose with top 7-8 and them playing exclusively, that’s a different story in my mind. Not sure that happened here. That’s all I’m saying.

RE: POTENTIAL STARTING LINEUPS
I value all of the different opinions here on what sounds like an "L" to Pembroke in a scrimmage.

1. Bill clarified his point and I don't disagree with the post just above mine. It's all a matter of worrisome? Yes. How worrisome... we don't know that just yet.

2. Losing at all bothers me, just like the others said above. That's a bad precedent and doesn't give any of us any optimism considering the last two years.

If I were coach at this point, winning would be more important than getting "looks" at different lineups and schemes. I would want the looks, but not at the expense of the W.

You are trying to quickly and radically reverse the culture of the last two years (Coach McGrath has now explicitly stated that their goal is to win the CAA Championship this year). Losing for any reason to a D2 team is a bad way to go.

Yep. I 100% agree. This is his “put up or shutup” year. IMO, he’s officially on the hot seat.
