John Bowen Eligible!
Great news for the Seahawks and John Bowen. NCAA has ruled him immediately eligible, and giving the Seahawks more flexibility with the roster in regards to big men.

According to the Burke interview these NCAA submissions were all on Esleeck’s plate this summer. You are probably right. Wouldn’t be surprised if they consulted with some folks at the ole flagship school. Burke gave the number of pages Doug had to pull together and submit. It was insane. Good work.

RE: John Bowen Eligible!
What does our rotation look like now?

Toews/Okauru
Estime/Skaggs
Sims/Boggs
Dodd/Bowen
Linssen/Dodd

Not sure when Gadsden will return, but it doesn't sound (to me) like a quick recovery. What are the expectations for Tolefree, Phillips, Boggs?

I believe they're hoping to get Gadsden back by conference play.

My prefernce would be

Toews
Okauru
Estime
Sims
Linnsen

rotate in Dodd, Bowen, Boggs, Phillips, Skaggs, Tolefree accordingly. I don't know how ready Phillips is so I can definitely see a scenario where Tolefree starts at the 2 and Okauru comes off the bench to be a backup ball handler/provide a scoring spark off the bench. We have a lot of pieces but nobody knows who's going to be "the guy." Personally I think it could be Okauru, but it will be very interesting to see. Plus the handling of Gadsden coming back, CB and this staff have their hands full.

RE: John Bowen Eligible!
I could see Skaggs starting over Estime in this rotation. McGrath never seemed sold on him. Skaggs is also a lights out shooter who seems to work well with Toews. It will be interesting to see what happens when Gadsden returns because Toews is going to start and Okauru may be hard to take out of a starting spot if he begins there. Not a bad problem to have, but it could place Gadsden in a bad spot.

Toews, Okauru, Skaggs, Sims, Linssen

Phillips, Estime, Tolefree, Bowen, Dodd.

I agree. Okauru is 'the guy' but he didn't play at Florida for a reason. He is easily the most talented on both sides of the ball. It will be interesting to see if he can play the 2 spot away from the ball after playing PG at Florida. His shoot consistency will dictate whether we can have our best 2 drive creators at the 1&2 (Toews/Okauru). I think with those 2 guys you must have 2 shooters on the floor at all times for spacing. (Estime/Skaggs/Gadsen)

2nd point is how do we run the break and take advantage of Toews 'ball push' if we have a small lineup that can't rebound?? This is a huge point this season. In theory 4 guards (6'2" to 6'"5) sounds good but....

Transition points will be huge. Non-existent last season so we were exposed in the 1/2 court trying to Post Up Cacock or ISO Toews off high ball screens.

Did Flemmings sit out a year after transferring from a Division II team? Does Bowen have the same situation Flemmings had?

He did sit a year, and Bowen would have as well but he qualified to play immediately under hardship rules.

Flem sat out a year and paid his own way for 1 or 2 years, I believe. Dude just wanted to play D1 hoops and man did he make the most of it... Bowen had to move closer to home due to his father being sick, and it worked out that we had an extra scholarship and needed some frontcourt depth.
