Exclamation The refs didn't steal the game from us
No they didn't. The Tigers lost the game. Instead of 3 turnovers in the first quarter, how about two turnovers and then the Tigers score a touchdown. 13 to 7. The outcome would have been much better. Brady White is a Tiger. The Tigers turned the ball over to often, that is why the Tigers are 5 and 1.

This post looks like you are arguing with yourself....but looks can be deceiving without having all the information to make a decision.

The refs made a decision to overturn a catch that would have put us in FG range with only a few minutes to go. The refs made this decision even though NO clear evidence exists that original call on the field was incorrect.

The refs made a call at the point of the game where we could not overcome it.

The refs screwed us.

Those are the facts.

you are wrong once again, Our Team played poorly then had the ball in FG position to WIN the game , then the refs STOLE the game...

it does not matter how a team plays for 57 minutes, it matters for 60

compartmentalize the game - we were robbed of a chance, a likely chance, to win the game

pure and simple

RE: The refs didn't steal the game from us
We played poorly but still put ourselves in a position to win which was then stripped away by the refs. If you had $10,000,000 and poorly invested and lost $4,000,000 of it and then the remaining $6,000,000 was stolen from you would not blame the robbers for stealing the fortune you managed to preserve despite other bad decisions or just blame yourself for losing the first bit and put no blame on the thieves?

RE: The refs didn't steal the game from us
Memphis was outplayed most of the game but sometimes teams that are outplayed can find themselves with a chance to pull it out in the end. Memphis made a play to have a chance and the refs overturned the play without indisputable evidence. The refs determined the outcome of the game by violating the rules of instant replay.

Temple played well enough to win so I can't take anything away from the Owls. But the garbage refs in this conference need to be exposed, not have people make excuses for them.

How many more threads do we need to start another beating of Brady White?

Or to be the new genius who notes that the turnovers hurt

Yes...if Memphis had not turned it over at all and everything else was equal the game would not have been close. So what

We were where we were and even with that the referees still screwed up that call which effectively ended our last best chance. Both matter

You can say that. But that assumes a hypothetical.

Let's say we score first and it's 7-0. What happens after that? Do we play flawless ball? Does Temple go to sleep? Or do we go for blood and try an onside kick -- only to lose it and give Temple the ball in great field position.

They they score and they execute an onside kick and go up 2 score.

Again, hypothetical scenarios.

What we do know is that -- even with our poor play -- we stormed back and had the game in our grasp. Until it was taken away by that reversal.

RE: The refs didn't steal the game from us
Turnovers have a positive/negative dichotomy. The offense performs a negative - putting the ball in a position for the defense to take possession, and the defense performs a positive - taking possession of the ball by interception or fumble recovery. That is football. But, getting ****** by the refs is purely a negative. There was no positive by Temple to balance it. Brady White made a great play to get the ball off while being tackled by the defender, Joey Magnifico made a great play to make the catch, even turning his body to make sure the ball doesn't hit the ground, and the refs make the right call on the field. Then, the refs in review some how overturn the call on the field because of "indisputable evidence" on footage that, even slowed down to frame by frame is inconclusive? We put ourselves in a position to lose, and in a position to win. Temple put themselves in a position to win, and in a position to lose. But, ultimately the refs took it out of both of our hands.

Your posts indicate you don't fully appreciate how much this hurts. We can still accomplish goals. But the undefeated dream is gone. All on an obviously bad application of the replay rules.

Attended the game with two Temple fans. We were all shocked the call was overturned.

Game is over.

Turning my focus to Tulane.
