RE: The refs didn't steal the game from us
After reading all the arguments about my OP I stand corrected. We was robbed! That replay Zebra was in fact an Ass, and there is nothing we can do about it. GTG

Plus, I don't feel sorry for Temple. They've had four turnovers."

I simply sometimes see a double-standard with fans (of all schools). I've been guilty of being hyper-partisan, too. But I try to catch myself and be honest with myself and reel it in.

Yes, it would have been nice to have had a chance to win the game. I get it. The Tigers lost. Moving on.

That cuts both ways. Many here are "fans" who would be arguing the we stole the game from Temple. (Hint: they really aren't Memphis football fans.)

There are some posters on this board (I'm fairly new to posting but have been reading since about 2013) who will never be considered "true" or "real" Tiger fans. I'm one whom some posters look at with suspicion. They probably consider me a "fake" Memphis fan. I understand. It does not bother me. I might feel the same way about myself if I were them and a younger, hard-core Tiger fan.

There is one athletic program I once hated — its fans, its fight song, its colors, its logo, its location ... everything. And though I expected high standards related to behavior, ideas, comments and viewpoints from that program's fans, I failed to hold myself to those same high standards. I was a hypocrite, a homer, an immature ass..le. Then an incident happened (in 2009) that forever changed me and my approach to being a fan. It humbled me.

I've enjoyed being a Memphis fan so much more since then.

Yeah, I don't know you so not casting anything your way. Just don't want to be lectured about how to react to a terrible call - especially from people who have a track record that doesn't suggest they're really Memphis football fans. I have a strong feeling that 98% of the fans telling us to get over it, it really was a catch, blah, blah - would be saying we robbed Temple if it were the other way around.

He decides he has to get something to eat, so he heads to a diner across the road. He steps in front of a bus and gets killed. What killed him? Sure, if he hadn't woken late he might not have stepped in front of the bus. Or if he had waited to eat. But the ME's report will not say he was killed because he was late or hungry. It will say he was killed by getting run over by a bus.

I liked that analogy a lot.

I can appreciate your constructive criticism of me. My tone and word choice were not ideal. My apologies.

I do love the Tigers but I'm not the typical fan.

Thx, T87

The outcome would have been much better. Brady White is a Tiger. The Tigers turned the ball over to often, that is why the Tigers are 5 and 1.
05-stirthepot Those were mistakes that were obvious and not challenged. This was an obvious catch that we were cheated out of and cost us the game.
