The great thing about 5OT? We don't have to suffer through either team's miserable kicker any longer.

Michigan calling a timeout before a delay-of-game penalty kicks in.... on the first play. This doesn't bode well for Michigan.
Remember 2007 VT@GT? Same situation, GT calls timeout before play 1... and loses 27-3

Wow! That was about the best game I've ever watched. Had me up and down and on the edge of my seat for over 4 hours. Makes me wish I still had season tickets.

I don't know if the better team won, but the right one did in this case. 04-cheers

Bad calls throughout the game, but Syracuse had more than their fair share of those calls in their favor. It wasn't as close as the score indicated, but most of that is on Pitt considering Narduzzi likes to play stone age football when he gets a lead...

The game was as close as the final score. Pitt dominated the first half and SU dominated the second. The 2 teams were real close in total yards even with 9 sacks. SU came up short again allowing 8 sacks last week and 9 yesterday. SU's defense has really improved since the beginning of the seaon but the offense cant stay on the field to allow the defense to rest. If Clayton Welch starts the last 5 games, SU's offense will be much better. Im impressed with that kid. He's a poor mans Eric Dungey.

Respectfully disagree with it being as close as the score indicated. Pitt did the same thing with against Duke - big halftime lead followed by a 2nd half collapse due to errors and going into an ultra conservative shell. It’s something Narduzzi needs to work on with the team and his own coaching. Don’t take your foot off the gas with a lead when the offense is on the field.

The lead was 24-6 at the half. Thats not a big enough lead in any coaches mind at halftime to go conservative in the third quarter unless they added a couple more scores. Pitt had -7 yards in the second half and into the fourth quarter, and only scored 3 points in the second half. It was a good game and the Panthers won, but dont make it seem as if SU scored in junk time to make the score closer. They scored thru-out the second half and the game was close enough that no one was sure who would win until the last possession of the game when Pitt ran out the clock. It was a good win for Pitt as I think SU is a much better team with Clayton Welch as QB. The SU defense played well as did Pitts defense.

Pitt has to learn to close the deal and finish the game

Our Offensive Line is still having issues. Until that gets straightened out (and it may not this season) Pitt will struggle with consistency. And if our TEs could stop dropping catch-able balls, that would help too.

It seems Narduzzi and company start with a good game plan, leading to a good first half. But the second half adjustments seem to be an issue.

That pass had a lot of hang time, but I suppose if it was intercepted then it would have worked just as well as a punt.

All the jokers in the camo at the VaTech game must get an itchy trigger finger when they hear that ridiculous gobbler call.

More of a fisherman myself.

One thing that game showed me was Mack Brown caught Fuente in not even a year. Good luck the rest of the season, Gobblers. See you in Chapel Hill next year, feel free to wear your hunting camo.

I don't remember an exceeding amount of camo in the stands. They did show 3 guys dressed up in home made turkey outfits that I'd never seen before.

There really weren’t that many. Just enough to be butthurt about. 04-cheers

Something's got to give in this UNC@VT game.

Mack Brown is now 37-2 after his teams bye week. 04-cheers

So Fuente is 26-1 now when leading at halftime? That's actually pretty impressive - you want a coach who doesn't blow halftime leads (of course, GETTING a halftime lead is pretty important, too!)

Who Fuente?

I never believed he could be fired before 2022 regardless of how the team performed.

VT's largest athletics donation ever came this year and was $10mil. Where is the money going to come from to buy him out, buy out his assistants and hire a new staff?

If Fuente had lost the locker room and there had been a revolt with 20 or more people entering the portal, and VT lost the last 3 games instead of won them. Then maybe something could be done. But really he's only 2 years removed from ACC COY and I believe he is a good coach.

To answer your question he definitely gets another year.
