Game Week/Day: WMU (under the lights)
Should be interesting what the stadium, SAPC, scoreboard, Convo, etc. look like at night. I would think it would be impressive.
I think the weather forecast is good for mid-October.
Other than the CMU clunker (and KY mis-match game), it seems that EMU is still playing the last minute thriller games and those can go either way.
We've already had a bunch this year: IL, CCSU, and now BSU.
More thoughts later...

I shutter to think what WMU’s offense will do against this defense.

BTW, the one thing I haven't read (sorry if I missed it):
But didn't we come within say 6 inches of a win yesterday? We could have just as easily as won the game as lost it.
And Glass missed Sexton by 12 inches on the next play...

RE: Game Week: WMU (under the lights)
Dear steve,
What you say is true, but it happened twice. We had a sure touchdown pass dropped late in the game, and had an underthrown pass early in the game that may have been a touchdown, if the receiver was led properly.
The point is, we are not making those plays, and we need to. Even though I will appauld Coach Creighton for calling a double pass, why have a receiver throw the second part, and not one of the quarterbacks. If, his response is, we didn't want the opposition to see a quarterback in the halfback position, therefore giving the play away. Why not put Grissom there? Personally I don't buy the possible argument that Ball State would have recognized a quarterback in the halfback position, and even if they did, so what. How would they know what would eventually happen?

Why not Holder?

Can we upset WMU???? With us passing the ball 80 percent of the time......Zero pressure from our DL...……
How will we do it???? Play Grissom 20 snaps, make Mackey the starting RB...….Blitz on every 3rd down? Suggestions entire board????
7 wins and a bowl are still possible, but things have to change super fast......

I totally agree. You have to have playmakers make plays. Grissom NEEDS to touch the ball at least half a dozen times a game. Hoying should be blitxing every 3rd down. Breck Turner is not the answer at RB. Put Macki in and see if he can get some explosive plays. EMU has to win 4 of the next 6 to have any chance at a bowl. If we go 6-6, we likely will not be selected as one of the 6 is against an FCS.

I made the point in the gameday thread I did not understand why Grissom was in for a few plays and vanished
I agree the problems are the two lines

I really like our two minute offense see yesterday' and Kentucky
Why not run it the entire game and outdare their offense to outscore us?

Wow Jim I was not the only one wondering about Holder. In fact I looked down at the sideline immediately after the play and spotted him watching the play. I wonder what has happened to him. I realize that he was at best, adequate as a receiver and that there has been an emergence of others like Drummond and Beydoun, but still I would have expected him to see the field more this year. He is a senior and his red-shirt has already been burned.

We are approximately a 9 1/2 point underdog Saturday evening...
Ov/Un is 63 so that basically equates to WMU 36, EMU 27.
10/19 7:00 PM
347 Western Michigan
348 Eastern Michigan
-10 -10

As we all aware Holder has executed that play several times in his career.

I did a little digging:
Holder has not played any games this year. Why I don't know.
Also Eddington hasn't played any games. Still injured?? Here is his bio. He has been out of H.S. a long time, but don't know when he started JUCO (he had an ACL his senior year in h.s.). I don't know if he can redshirt this year and still have eligiblity next year under the 5 years to play 4. I assume his NCAA 'clock' started when he first played at Bakersfield CC.

The Charlie Batch cups for the beer fest look cool.
Any idea how season ticket holders can get one? Don’t want to buy another single ticket just for the cup. Lol

RE: Game Week: WMU (under the lights)
Excited for this game. I'm optimistic that we can get the W at home.
WE Just need to make some more plays. Plain and simple.
There are a few things I'm sure of that will not change about this team this year.
1. We cannot stop the run when we need to.
2. We cannot run the ball consistently with our RBs.
We need to get better with these two things or we continue a losing streak -- which seems to be the weakness of CC and co. A complete football team.
But, I HATE THE BRONCOS. So...
LFG.
