Impact of Georgia loss?
I’m thinking the impact is minimal, no 11-1 at large run to the playoff. As long as the Bulldogs win the conference with fewer than 3 losses, they should make the playoff.

Georgia is going to need to run the table, including beating Florida and winning the conference.

Means there is no chance for 3 SEC teams in the playoffs.

Seriously, this looked like a year when there could be 3. Good chance Ohio St. doesn't make it through unscathed. And if OU stumbles, you could have had 3. But I don't think Florida can run the table, so its just 2 as the max.

It also means whatever the line is next week, if you are one to make bets then take Georgia to cover against Kentucky. It could get ugly.

GTS has something to cheer for this season now. More UGAg losses. And everybody thinking UGAg is going to just punch the clock and win out better not just watch the game this week but go back and watch that way-closer-than-it-should-have-been game in Knoxville last week.

Right, Wisconsin might be the best Big Ten team.

And Clemson has to get by Wake Forest too. Could see some new faces in the CFP.

? You can still have 3 SEC teams finish with 1 or fewer losses... so, still theoretical if highly unlikely, as it was before Georgia’s loss.

This is one moment where, being a fan of a g-5 team, I am actually GLAD we're shut-out of the whole CFP nonsense:

Don't know...Don't care.

The SEC isn't getting three teams in. Matter of fact, I would say the Big Ten will get Ohio St and Wisconsin in before the SEC get two teams in.

Georgia is a fradulent Paper Tiger.

They aren't going to win the SEC. I would be surprised if they beat Florida and Auburn

Clemson is going to crush Wake Forest

There never was. The committee would never have provoked everyone else that way.

The impact here is twofold. Georgia has to win out and do so semi impressively. And Notre Dame's strength of loss just diminished.

Yeah and the problem there for the Big 10 is that those two will very likely meet twice. If the winner of the first wins the second they only get 1. If the winner of the first loses badly in the rematch they only get 1. It would take a 3 point or less game decided late to get 2.

Florida hasn't shown the consistency to run it with their schedule. The 3 SEC scenario was an unbeaten East, unbeaten West meeting in the ccg with Alabama or LSU going 11-1 and finishing 2nd in the West.

It would require the Big 12 and Pac 12 champ to have 2 losses. Pretty good chance of the former. High chance of the latter. And then the Big 10 champ to be a 2 loss team or a 1 loss team not named Ohio St.

Agreed

OT. That may help with the waiver the AAC is proposing, This situation may not have happened with that in place.
