Memphis: Cotton Bowl v Florida (CBS); Frisco v Fresno (ESPN); Cotton v Baylor (ESPN & 247); Boca v Central Michigan (CFN)

Cincinnati: Gasparilla v La Tech (CBS & 247); Cotton v Oregon (ESPN); Liberty v Iowa St. (ESPN); Cure v Ga St (CFN)

SMU: Belk v Va Tech (CBS & 247); Gasparilla v UAB (ESPN); Liberty v Kansas St (ESPN); Frisco v Buffalo (CFN)

Navy: Military v Pitt (CBS & 247); Birmingham v UAB (ESPN); Military v Louisville (ESPN & CFN)

UCF: Cure v Ark St (CBS); Frisco v Marshall ESPN); Gasparilla v Charlotte (ESPN); Cure v SDSU (247); Gasparilla v Western Kentucky (CFN)

Tulane: Birmingham v Liberty (CBS & 247); Hawaii v BYU (ESPN); Birmingham v BC (ESPN); Birmingham v Charlotte (CFN)

Temple: Frisco v Marshall (CBS & 247); Boca v Central Michigan (ESPN); Military v Louisville (ESPN); Texas v Oklahoma St (CFN)

For Temple, potential p5 matchups v OK ST and Louisville, although I would look forward to any of these opponents.

Nice work. This is so exciting!

Most of these bowls blow. These predictions include a handful of more appealing bowls than our official tie-ins, including Liberty, Belk, Texas and Cure. How exactly does that work? Aren't contractually obligated to filling some of those?

Not every site explains methodology, but several say the SEC will not fill their bowls because they will have up to 3 teams playing NY6 bowls. So that could open the Liberty for example. Also, some predictions are sloppy and don’t research a lot. Also the ACC may struggle to fill spots. It’s fun to look at but a lot can still happen even in the American.

I'd happily take the SEC sloppy seconds.

Oregon to the Cotton Bowl might be the most ridiculous thing I've seen. So Kyle Bonogura thinks that Utah is going to win the Pac-12 (which is fine) but somehow Oregon is still going to be selected as an at-large with 2 losses over a Florida or a Baylor? Crack don't smoke itself...

BYU will play in Hawaii. could be a little horse trading with another bowl or 2.

Yeah they are suppose to play an AAC team but I think we leave that one alone unless Navy wants it.

Per latest bowl agreements:
Whenever BYU is bowl eligible they go to Hawaii bowl. Whenever Hawaii is bowl eligible they host the Hawaii bowl. The above presumes neither get a NY6 invitation. If either of those teams can't fill their slot the AAC gets next option.

So given where each of those teams are at it seems very likely they will face each other, so we are out of the Hawaii bowl picture.

Incorrect, if the slot is the MWC's and Hawaii is available they get the spot.

The contract is for the AAC (we have a partial tie in) vs BYU this year.

However it is unlikely we will have enough teams to fill bowls. Especially if we pick up the Liberty or Indy which both may have open spots for us vs A5. So it is likely (unless Navy wants it) that we will not fill that spot.

RE: Realistic AAC bowl teams
Iowa 24 Nebraska 10 3rd Q

that would open up a bowl from Big 10 but I'm not sure they are the bowls many AAC teams want. Michigan St has to beat Maryland to become bowl eligible but that is likely. Big 10 has only 8 bowl eligible bowls teams with Ohio St headed to Playoff-that would be only 7 bowl slots and I think they have about 10 bowl affiliations

West Virginia 7
TCU 0

that would open up a Big 12 Bowl-probably at least the First Responders Bowl which has been moved from Cotton Bowl Stadium to SMU due to NHL Hockey Classic. I'd rather play at home than get stuck in Frisco Bowl

Iowa drills 49 yard FG to make it 27-24 Iowa over Nebraska with :01 possibly opening up a bowl spot in Big 10 Bowl. I think 3 maybe 4 Big 10 bowls may be unfilled if Michigan St were to losed
