Handicapped Access to West Gate
My brother and I have tickets to the homecoming game on the west side of the stadium. My brother has emphysema and cannot walk long distances. We plan to go by Uber and need to know the best place to be dropped off and picked up. I am not at all familiar with the traffic patterns on the west side. I was told to go down Bolling from Hampton Blvd. and turn left at Bluestone. Is it possible to get near the West Gate using that route? Would that route work for an Uber picking us up after the game? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thank you.

I have a special needs daughter who goes to games with me. You can park right under the stadium, if that helps lessen your walk.

Yeah, you will definitely want to come in on the side of Bluestone, since that would be a long walk for him from the east side entrances. You could turn on Bolling, take a left on Carillo and then come back up Longwood or Melrose. Either street would put you pretty close to the gate.

Thank you. Is it possible to turn directly on to Bluestone from Bolling or is it closed off? Do you suggest your same route for pick up after the game?

You can. In prior years, Bluestone was blocked off near the intersection of Bluestone and Longwood (maybe it was Melrose). But looking at the stadium camera on the day of the NSU game, it looks like they were letting cars go through. So you might be able to get dropped off right in front of the stadium. Either way, Bolling to Bluestone is going to be your best bet.
As for after the game, you should be fine just getting an Uber there. I would just check the wait times before leaving your seats. That way you can use your walk out as part of your wait time. You just don't want to make the driver wait, since they may cancel your trip and you'll have to wait even longer.

Yes. You can have your Uber turn left on Bluestone from Bolling and drop you off right in front of the West Gate. The stadium curb side is coned off but traffic can still travel down Bluestone. Picking up should be fine also but it will be tough maneuvering because people exiting just flood Bluestone after the game. If we keep playing like we are most of the crowd should be gone by halftime anyway.

Thank you. Hopefully we will see a turnaround Saturday and the traffic will be horrendous on homecoming.

Lol. I could tell you, but then Nicolas Cage would have to kill you.
