John Rothstein’s pre-season top four AAC teams are ranked as follows:

1. Houston
2. Memphis
3. Cincinnati
4. Temple

That seems a little high for Temple.

RE: Temple’s men’s 2020-2021 basketball season
Even though K.Battle after missing most of last season will give Temple a big lift in the back-court, Temple needed to find a third player other than D.Dunn who did not shoot particularly well last season, and committed turnovers at an alarming rate.

Realizing that, Temple signed 6'5" SG Shane Dezonie, a 4-start transfer from Vanderbilt. Although a terrific three-point shooter, Dezonie doesn't get to the foul-line anywhere near as much as Dunn does, and unfortunately, he also turns the ball over far too often, and fouls more often than Dunn did.

As such, it's going to be hard for Temple to find a rhythm when either Dunn or Dezonie are on the court

Temple's HC Mckie has not recruited well his last three years and has seen good players transfer out. His two four star players Battle and Dezonie are transfers. Thweatt is a 3-star transfer.

And the only current 3-star recruit on the team is Hysier Miller, the rest are
are two-star players. Hicks surely is deserving of being a 3-star player.

Regardless of rankings, Temple does have depth but how good it's starting line-up remains to be seen.

After suffering a tough overtime loss to Wagner, Temple rebounded in a big-way and defeated nationally ranked Villanova 68-64 in a nail-bitter playing at home. Temple was led by D.Dunn's 22-points, K.Battle scored 21-points. and J.Reynolds scored 14-points, and had double digits in rebounds. Transfer Reynolds has played very well in his first two games.

Temple's Hicks and White continue to struggle offensively as they combined in shooting 1-14 from the floor.

Once again, Thweatt did not play.

This was HC Mckie's biggest win during his tenure as HC. One can only hope that Temple has righted the ship and goes on to have a fine season. His players gave it their all last night.

So proud of Damian Dunn scoring 39-points to Vanderbilt in Temple's overtime loss. He's come so far.

6'6" SG/SF Aaron Davis is the best HS player in Pennsylvania. He plays for Scotland Prep's First Love team. He's a post-graduate student. He formerly attended St.Benedict's Prep and Hudson Catholic HS. Both are located located in Northern New Jersey. He worked on his game this past summer and has taken it to a whole new level.

Last night he scored a whopping 59-points and shot 70 percent on three's (17-24). In the first 12 minutes of the game he made 12 three's and scored 36 points. Doubt that's ever been done before. His 17-made three's may be a Pennsylvania and national HS record. He sat out 5-10 minutes of the 40-minute game.

He's one of the nation's best pure shooters and scorers, and in two other other games he scored 30 plus points, and scored 25 points or more in the first-half of those games. He's scored 7 or 8 three's in a number of games. If you want to see his highlights go to Aaron Davis twitter account. He'll be attending for Bryant University next season.
