RYAN is the new corporate sponsor for CUSA Football Championship Game
Quote:DALLAS – Conference USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced today that Ryan has entered into an agreement to be the title sponsor for the 2019 C-USA Football Championship. Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, becomes the Official Corporate Tax Services Firm of Conference USA and will continue its title sponsorship of the annual football championship through 2021.

I think Ryan's Buffet would've been a more appropriate sponsor IMO but whatevs...

Haha! Most won't get this, but I have a 5 year old.

G. Brint Ryan is a North Texas alumnus, a former chair of our Board of Regents, and one of our largest athletic donors. He also paid $20 million for the naming rights to our school of business.

He is more or less the Mean Green version of Okie State's T. Boone Pickens.

How sad is it that I actually thought for a moment when I saw the thread title that it was actually possible for it to have been true. Couldn’t think of a more appropriate moment to summarize the ineptness of this league’s leadership.

With more Texas money flowing into the conference I wonder if that'll help keep the BBall tourney there longer

For better or worse, CUSA keeps finding ways to tie itself to UNT.

I'm kinda dumb when it comes to these things but could there be a conflict of interest with having one of CUSA's big corp. sponsor's CEO (RYAN dude) being a big wig donor for a CUSA school, as Cerebrus alluded to? I guess the NCAA is okay with this...?

I think at this point the conference doesn't give a shat where the money is coming from.

Ryan has been a great North Texas donor for a number of years. I don't know if it is a conflict of interest or not. But last checked, C-USA wasn't earning much from our media deals. Judy is probably having a hard time finding money for this conference. I guess if their was some entity offering more money, Ryan wouldn't have been named the title game sponsor.

I think Ryan donated the money for our new basketball court. I know their corporate logo is on the court in the video I placed in another thread.

So, not Ryan Seacrest? Oh well.

I have never heard of this company, guessing it's regional? Also, didn't know there were any Ryan's Buffetts still in business.

What possibly could be the conflict? Nobody knows who he is outside of Denton. If his check clears....we are good. Lets go back to self hating and attendance issues.

I salute CUSA for at least having the good sense to take the money and happy for UNT that they have a bona fide Sugar Daddy! Gawd knows we could use one in the Boro.

From the article:

Ryan’s multidisciplinary team of more than 2,500 professionals and associates serves over 14,000 clients in more than 50 countries, including many of the world’s most prominent Global 5000 companies.

Figured it out, they are just relatively new, founded in 2010, and relatively small ($560MM in total funding) as far as insurance service companies go. They've had nice growth though.

Sounds like a company that will be acquired for a few billion in the future.
