Dukes get swept at NC St which unfortunately was the likely result going into the weekend. The Dukes will hit a game tomorrow @ Richmond on the way home before a four-game weekend series on the new home turf vs Quinnipac

Sunday was an abject blowout, but there was some good action on Friday and Saturday. About as realistic good a series to start off against a team that expects to make the CWS.

Agreed......JMU played 2 pretty competitive games and had a real shot to win game 2. The Sunday game turned into a 'Johnny Whole Staff' kind of game and that one got away from us a bit.

I am interested to know when Travon Dabney will be good to in the outfield. That kid is an impact player who had a great freshman year last season.

I asked Madia when Dabney would be back and he said 'Ike' said yesterday....should be a couple of weeks. Better to take it slow this time of year and make sure he is right and not rush it.

Also, I think Quinnipiac was an NCAA tournament team as food for thought.....so not like they are gonna roll into Harrisonburg and lay down for the Diamond Dukes.

(side note, I find it odd still that so many programs in New England, Northeast, and upper Midwest can field baseball teams but Syracuse Univ. does not...similarly, isn't it strange that the Miami Hurricanes don't have a men's golf program?)

Saturday will no longer be a double header, per JMU Baseball twitter. Single game that starts at 1 pm.

Syracuse dropped Baseball in the 70's largely due to title IX but the horrible weather in Central NY was also a factor. Syracuse has some of the least amount of sunshine in the US. On average it rains more days than not. I still have family in Central NY and I rarely see the sun when I go back. It is very depressing.

Really stupid question (I know there are no stupid questions, just stupid people) but is the "dirt" part of the infield synthetic also? Hard to tell via the FB feed.

If it is like the softball field next door it is some form of synthetic clay that allows it to drain and dry really quickly. Not sure of the details though.
