RE: Future QB controversy?
Ridder is a Sophmore and has taken control of the team early on into his second year. He’ll be hard to beat out unless he just plateaus and doesn’t improve. I agree he needs to improve going through his progressions and becoming a downfield passer, but that’s hard to do when your line isn’t giving you a lot of time.
Dumb to argue about something like this so early.

RE: Future QB controversy?
I think Dez is the JT Barnett of this team. Hopefully, he continues to win a lot of games but you wonder if he could play a little better.
Off the field, Dez is nothing like JT, thankfully.

Jones was recruited as an OT. The staff said they will give him a crack at QB but they want to mold him into an OT

Yea, and with the talent we’ve accumulated at the QB position you have to think he will start transitioning to a different position sooner rather than later.
I really see it as a 3 player race with Ridder as the current favorite, Prater as the future, and Bryant as the wildcard.
As I’ve said though, it’s nearky impossible to predict this far out when you consider how quickly everything can change in football. One play and Bryant may be thrust into the starting role and have a shot to prove his worth. Just too many variables this far out.

I have faith that Bryant will get some real play time in the blowout games. UConn the obvious one. Probably get time in the Tulsa, USF, and ECU game too

Don't forget Michael Lindauer out of Evansville. Tremendous athlete @ QB and possibly a future professional baseball player. It's exciting to have what appears to be a wealth of talent in the QB room next year. Actually, as a longtime Bearcat football fan, it's more than exciting--it's almost surreal.

As I mentioned, it’s hard to predict, but as it stands now I don’t know that we will see a lot of Lindauer. With all the other talented QB’s we have on the roster and incoming, I’m just not sure I see it but who knows in Football. Like I said, one play can change everything. Not that you need an example, but I doubt anyone expected UCF to be starting a Freshman a few years ago, and probably not even a few months ago. Just too many variables.
Fick showed he was willing to play whoever gave the team the best shot at winning when he put Ridder in during Game 1 last year. As long as we play the QB that gives us the best chance to win, we will be in good hands considering all the talent we’ve stockpiled at the position.
