Is Brady the guy you don’t appreciate until you get the next guy you don’t appreciate?

Congrats to Brady. Making the list is an achievement in itself.

Is it just coincidence that "golden" and "noodle" are spelled with almost the exact same letters?
I mean, just askin'.

It is specifically for Senior/4th year QBs.

RE: Johnny Unitas finalists
I’ve been one of Brady’s biggest critics, but he displayed some toughness in the ULM game that I hadn’t seen before.
There were two specific plays where he stood his ground and got drilled as he let go of the ball. I think he completed one on a third down that kept a drive alive.
It showed progress.
He’s a very cerebral player and can be efficient at times. He also seems almost over coached to take the sure play or throw it away. You can tell he’s been coached to slide versus risk injury over a first down.
To me the most important factor is poise. As a former QB, I know it’s hard to develop poise. But he didn’t bail out on those plays like we’ve seen him do before.
Consistency against quality competition will be Brady’s biggest test going forward and has been his biggest weakness.
Our offense is like a Formula One Mercedes race car with all the weapons, speeed, athletes, formations, motion, gimmicks, and running game. Brady should get more credit and praise for running such a complicated offense smoothly.
When Brady overthrows a wide open receiver or makes a bad read on an RPO that’s the difference between a touchdown versus a tfl or 3-&-out, even a casual fan can see the mistake. Sometimes we need a driver that just doesn’t wreck the car even if that means not getting the fastest lap time with all that horsepower under the hood.
I’ve been less vocal about his mistakes and will continue to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even the best QBs make mistakes and have bad days. The next 8 weeks will tell the tale. The prize could be the difference between a NY day bowl versus the Birmingham bowl. The margin of error to be the G5 Rep is very small. It might be too much pressure.
We all hope Brady is up for the challenge. Hopefully like last week, our defense, running game, and special teams alleviate that pressure and compensate for the mistakes and inconsistencies that are still sure to come against stronger defenses.
Congratulations to Brady for making this short watch list. It’s an honor he’s deserved and he represents the University well.
I’d actually take Brady over several other QBs on this list.

I said when I saw him play in person, when the first quarter ended, if he had some receivers that could catch the ball, we were in big trouble.

I'm glad to see Brady get some positive recognition. I'm really tired of seeing him get slammed by a few "fans" on this board.

Good for Brady White.
I have been critical of him not throwing the long ball. But, the last few games, Brady has made an effort. So, he is learning.

Congrats to Brady. Well deserved.
I hope Shirley Temple doesn't see this. He'll be screaming about how the voters for this award know nothing about football and that Brady should be removed from this list.

Like I said, they're not a bad team.
Still think they're better than OM.
