He's asked about what Big East team will be the last team standing in March....

His answer-
Seton Hall. I like the Pirates' chances to nab one of those sneakily advantageous seeds in the Nos. 8 to 9 slot. No feisty mid-major opponents with double-digit seeds there, just talented but desultory underperformers from the major conferences. Easy pickings and a relatively safe ticket to the round of 32. Plus I suspect Powell will have means, motive and opportunity to go out with a bang, a la Carsen Edwards.

That may be the absolute dumbest answer I've ever heard a smart guy give before....

It sounded like he meant to say the nos. 8 to 9 slot as being a #2 or #3 seed (not 8 or 9).

I read it more as a 8 or 9 seed. The "just talented but desultory underperformers from the major conferences" line IMO means your major conference retreads if you will.... your 14-15 seeds aren't major conference teams.
