Not sure WKU has an edge because they are 3-0 in conference play...the edge comes when the other teams accumulate losses. WKU interesting...could be a tough game when we come to visit.

They are not really that good. Their QB sucks, throws tons of interceptions. Good CUSA teams will demolish them. Obviously ODU is not a good team.
This is what makes it so disgusting. If we had even half an offense we win.

Time will tell. Too early to make these conclusions/assumptions. Our offense is a work in progress---if we can improve our point production...

Point me to those good CUSA teams? I havent seen one, yet. BTW if ODU had half a offense....
you still lose.03-hissyfit03-hissyfit03-hissyfit

Be happy ODU got a win last year...it took an Idiot coach for that to happen. Your team might not get another win over Western.

All 3 points UD made were about the East. Admittedly, we probably learned nothing about the West this week except that UTEP is even worse than some of us thought if that's possible.

Well our quarterback is nowhere near what we’ve had in the past but Storey through 2 games has thrown for 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. He blew the jump pass at the goal line or he would have had 4 touchdowns. Hopefully he’ll settle down and complete that pass in the future. He does get rattled under pressure and that worries me. Through 2 games he’s made a couple bad decisions under pressure that allowed sacks.

Not setting the world on fire but I wouldn’t call 1 interception tons. Now, ODU’s quarterback has thrown for 1 touchdown on the season while throwing 5 picks. Maybe the lad is confusing the two quarterbacks no?

And good teams in CUSA. Not sure I’ve seen one even close to the level that Western and La Tech and USM were at 3 and 4 years ago. I’m not sure there’s one as good as FAU 2 years ago. This year’s FAU looks the best to me so far. USM and La Tech solid as well.

I’m pulling for us to not get demolished in the FAU game here and the USM game in Hattiesburg. Could happen.

But they seem to win with defense, it seems. You're going to win a lot of college football games when you allow less than 15 points.

Now, I really don't mean to offend any of the Hilltopper faithful, but WKU isn't really anything special. They aren't bad, but I wouldn't really call them good either. I can see them winning the East and if that isn't the biggest condemnation of this conference I don't know what is.

ODU is garbage this year and if your team loses to us you should be embarrassed.

That would be last year with a championship game of Middle vs UAB

Neither team would have been with in 3 tds of 2014 Marshall, 2015/16 Western, 2017 FAU. But it would be close

Good article. FIU and Marshall were expected to be the front-runners in the East, with much more polish. FAU was the darkhorse. WKU and MTSU had no shot along with Charlotte and ODU.

FIU has no defense. Marshall has no QB. FAU has no polish, but they do have Robison throwing to 2 dependable senior TEs and handing it to 2 promising freshman running backs. Kiffin has reason for optimism.

We do need to put it together in a hurry. We certainly have a lot of offensive talent. But we have demons to excise. Demons start with MTSU this week.

None taken. This conference just sucks, and right now we are 1 of the teams that suck the least. That can certainly change at any moment. I do know one thing... WKU’s defense is pretty good right now. In CUSA this year defense can win a championship.

Ext year should he better for us. Green is having the ol’ Sophomore slump, much like Litton did. It looks as if Obialo is going to redshirt and our o line and backers will have another year

That’s the yearly song and dance for the Herd. Always next year.

Hard to tell how good WKU was for me. Seemed to have a good pass rush and run D but then again we're the 129 out of 130 in total offense so it's not a good gage. I don't think their offense is much to write home about but it was better than ours, again not the best comparison. They've gotten the results so far though. I think it's safe to say that there's no team this year that is as good as our champs in years past.

May the least bad team win!

No one has said anyone is special, everyone on here seems to be in agreement the conference is very down this season....A lot of flaws for every CUSA team out there....As far as a player, no one in this conference is playing as good as DeAngelo Malone is right now, he is a freak whether your offense sucks or not...

You act like winning the East is a bad thing, I don't care how bad the conference is, no one will be embarrassed for being division champion in this conference....All preseason we heard how good Marshall and North Texas were going to be then the season started....

Hey, we're still undefeated in conference. (For now. No warranty, express or implied.)

Really Green "has shown flashes of being ready to assert himself as one of the best quarterbacks in C-USA" maybe a faint glimmer but I haven't seen any flashes. If Green is anywhere CLOSE to the top CUSA QB's that would make him the Smartest Kid in the Dumb Row. Sadly for Marshall fans the reality is Green is more in line with the bottom ranks of CUSA QBs.
