I think it's safe to say that whoever loses this game Saturday will have a depressed/upset fan base while the other will be very upbeat and motivated. Both are in year 4 of their head-coach, their players, their system. Both fan bases feel like their team hasn't lived up to it's potential. This game is very crucial to the future of each program IMO. Having a new AD at USM (and missing out on a bowl game, let alone not even competing for a west title), Hop knows he's under pressure to perform. We'll see what happens...

I think this hurts them a lot more if they lose this game and have an average season. They pay their coaching staff millions more than we pay ours and they have a great QB that may leave the school with zero conference championships.

True. Hop only makes 500k. Doesn't Litrell make like 1.5 mill?

Last time North Texas played in DFW bowl games we brought 39,000 fans (Heart of Dallas Bowl vs UNLV) & about 30K plus MG fans at a 1’st Responder Bowl vs Army); so just how many seats does the Frisco Bowl have? Not many, right? ??

247 has probably the most unrealistic bowl projections. They project 2-3 FIU to go bowling but 3-2 USM staying home. I realize it's dumb to fret about early bowl projections but I'd love to hear the rationale behind this lol.

They probably just forgot. I doubt they are putting too much time into the projections for the bottom tier bowls. Look at how 247 handle the player rankings for kids committed to G5 teams. They just give every player 3 stars. 247 is joke site.

Obviously with those picks. Will return to see if any of them were in the same universe....

I just booked my hotel for the New Orleans Bowl. We can cancel until 12/17 and the bowl is on 12/21. Don't let me down. We could finish 6-6 or 11-2 with a conference championship and still end up in this bowl.

The Southern Miss secondary has been embarassingly horrendous this season. Fine may throw for 700 yards Sat night. Littrell has out-coached Hopson in the past 3 games, and I don't expect that to change this year.

I agree Littrell is a much better coach. Fine will get his yards on Saturday.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeee let UAB finish out the season well enough to get into the Gasparilla bowl. SMU, UCF, Memphis would all be awesome opponents, and the basketball team is playing in some random tournament down there at the same time.

If there are more bowl eligible teams than bowl spots, and MTSU has six wins, I have to wonder if Middle stays home again. It’s happened to us a couple of times before. I think MT has to get 7 to get in.

ULL may be SunBelt's 2nd best team, but I do not see how that compares to any C-USA team. Air Force is a competent team, but so is USM.
