RE: Wagon Wheel Week
That sounds about right. Akron has zero running ability (1.8 YPC) so our weak run defense won't be exposed as much. Defensively, they give up more points than we do, even though the best team they've played has been UAB (as compared to our brutal schedule).
This will be the jumping off point for us. We should leave Infocision with a double-digit win. If we do, that bodes well for our hopes at being competitive in the East. If we struggle, this could be another 3-4 win season.
I don't see this one being particularly close. Bring the wheel back where it belongs!

I am cautiously optimistic this year. We've been burned by them before and rivalry games can go either way.

With that being said, lets ruin their homecoming and make a run at MAC East title.

The Akron game is huge. If they beat them handily, the first half of the year will have been, to me, a success. If they lose, or even struggle to win and play poorly, I will definitely be disappointed.

I can't believe that Akron is still charging $20 a ticket. For a school having attendance issues it makes no sense to charge that much.

I think that Dominic Hill NT returns this week, which will help the run defense.

I think not facing a RB who's a Heisman candidate and instead facing a bottom level MAC running attack will make all the difference.

Indeed. Taylor (Wisc) and Benjamin (ASU) and Whitlow (Aub) are all ridiculous talents. Taylor is probably a late 1st-round pick in 2020, Whitlow is a potential top-10 pick in 2021.

I might just go to the Acorn game with the kid that used to be my son before he was enrolled at Acorn. But, there will only be 10 or 11 people in the stands anyway, right?

RE: Wagon Wheel Week
Here’s what worries me: first off, Kent has only won six times in the last 22 matchups. So there’s that. And further, the Flashes just don’t blow them out; even when the Zips are God awful. Hell, our 2012 team was trailing UA in the mid-third quarter and that Zips squad was in its way to a third straight 1-11.

History says to expect a close game with plenty of flukey stuff.

I know the players and coaches are hyped for this game, but there is ZERO on the the athletics website or Twitter feed about it. But there is a nice preview of Thursday and Sunday's women's soccer games! SMH

We have done the same thing for the "big" games. Go early and people will be giving them away outside the stadium.

Make sure you stop and look at their new baseball field under construction.

Wow, can't remember when KSU was a 14.5 point favorite against the Zits last? Does anyone know?
