Hope the guys have a good week of practice and ready for a big game Saturday.

Two games in a row (CCSU and CMU) our opponent got the ball to start the game and scored.

If we have the choice, I want the ball to start the game.

I will be there as usual and actually I think it is a fabulous idea for us all to get together. I got to meet Ken Barna when Dan McLean allowed me into the President's Perch last year and he is as impressive in person as his posts are. A really great guy!

I tailgate with my college buddies at the west end of the parking lot, most likely for Homecoming we will be across from Oestrike. My friends all read this blog. Alum93, also known as Jeff Murphy joined us for the last game and I invited Mike1999 for homecoming as well, nice fellows for sure. I have never done the Alumni tent thing but please stop by and say HI is you have time.

The fam and I will be tailgating in the Convo lot. Will have tunes, tacos, and cornhole (dear god that name is terrible).

Weather does not look good for a big walk up crowd. Wonder what we have to do to catch a break in that department besides switch our name back to Hurons.

If there's one positive for the weather on Saturday, It appears the rain is going to stop by 10 A.M., 72 degrees on Friday, and 52 on Saturday!!!!! It'll hurt the walk up crowd for sure...….

Forecast has gotten much better: "Some clouds in the morning will give way to mainly sunny skies for the afternoon. High 53F. Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph." Rain should stop by 5:00 am.

The team put the ESPN Matchup Predictor on the jumbo tron showing that this game is essentially a push and we're technically "underdogs" according to them. Hopefully this will motivate the team and not take Ball State lightly.

RE: Game Week: Homecoming (BSU)
This may be CC's biggest game ever as EMU's football coach. Most of us believed CC finally stabilized the program and got it to a place where we might challenge for a MAC West Title. The loss to CMUs 1st year coach who inherited a team that finished with what a couple wins last season was head scratching. To get destroyed by a 1st year coach who inherited a couple win team is devastating to say the least!

CC needs to find a way to regroup this team and win this winnable game. If we lose at home.....gulp it's going to make the CC believers possibly non-believers.

Let's go CC and EMU Football!!

Referring to Jim McElwain as simply a 1st year coach is a bit of an oversimplification. The guy has a better resume than most MAC coaches and is turning around the CMU team quicker than anyone thought possible.

Dear eastcoasteagle,
Since the revelation of the quarterback situation at Central which was the identical situation with what happened when McElwain was the coach at Florida, and then a possible situation of similarities at Colorado, what do you think about how that affects him as a coach?
Personally, I don't want to jump ahead of everything before more may be learned, but it is beginning to look like win at any cost, and if that is the case, let's not give credit yet.

I'm on the other side of the equation. I think this is a must win at least for the season. We lose this game we start a death spiral. We lose to ball state we arent beating western or toledo or niu.

a few weeks ago i talked about how we were looking a 10-2 season in the eyes. lose tomorrow and were looking a 4-8 season in the eyes.

Yes, yes, yes Dan. Excellent analysis. This is a watershed game with respect to the 2019 season. If we lose this game, we become the EMU of the past, joyous with a four win season.
