Thought the crowd was pretty good. A legit 23k I'd say. Absolute perfect football weather. I could have sat out there in the Glass Bowl all day long. Onto BGSUcks with a 4-1 record. Hopefully we bring a large contingent of fans.

RE: WMU Game Thread
Wassink didn't show me much today, it seem he rush his passes even though he had time to throw. UT's front 4 is not putting any pressure on the QB, unless the Rockets blitz. Only then, he was moving out of the pocket. What was it about their receiver, #24. I would had thought that having the safety come over and help out Womack, would have been the game plan in the 2nd half. Take away the 39 yard dash for the TD, Bellamy was bottled up today on 12 carries for 31 yards. The D won the game today. Rossi has to learn not to hold.

Womack has been pretty good the past two games The whole D has played well. Our CBs have finally started to look for the ball

DB's have played great the last two games. I about lost my mind on that PI call towards the end of the game. Our DB was running step for step on the inside. Head was turned to see the ball. Made a great play. Almost textbook in my opinion. He wasn't draped all over the reciever. Ref who is completely behind both players drops the hanky.

Only two plays I can complain on the D was the two long scoring plays. If it wasn't for the TD, Belemay had a very pedestrian day. Hated to fumble back the INT. I didn't see the penalty prior to the INT for at TD. But I am sure it was ticky tack and had nothing to do with the interception.

There cannot be a big play in college football without a yellow hanky hitting the carpet. Same in the OSU game tonight. INT for a TD and a very minor inconsequential block called it back, shouldn't have been called.

Mitch had another steady game. I want back the long incomplete pass towards the end of the game. We had them beat, but couldn't connect. Mitchell is my favorite target. He almost looks like a TE out there, big and strong, and truly Toledo Tough.

Rosi killed at least two drives, maybe 3.

Careful. BG was terrible a few yrs ago at home and it took everything we had to beat them and it wasn't until the last drive when we put it away.

BG has been outscored 199-27 against FCS competition. They have four TDs in their four games, all losses. They gave up 60+ to a perennial league doormat. I am confident.

playing possum in the middle of the highway, still not going to work out too well for them.

That was his worst game of the year. Your dbs played well, but he was just missing throws and making poor decisions (which is rare for him). Good game though, wish we could go best of 3.

RE: WMU Game Thread
Cardiac kids. If the games keep going like this all season, they may need to be sponsored by the ProMedica Heart Center or something.

Other than WMU's 2 big touchdown plays, the defense played really well. Defense had 5 sacks, 1 INT and TWELVE pass break-ups. That's a huge number for a single game. Special teams on the other hand took a giant step back this week, with the blocked punt, missed FG, bad kick coverage and big penalties.

Holt had a monster game again with 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks. No on else had more than 5 tackles. Holt is in the top 50 nationwide in tackles-for-loss. Womack is still leading the nation in Passes Defended, and McDonald and Robinson are both in the top 40. Robinson is 4th in the nation in INTs per game.

Mitchell had a big break-out game with 119 yards at nearly 30 yards per catch. He is now 7th in the nation in yards per reception. Unfortunately, he seems to be the only receiver who has really stepped up yet this season. I was really surprised to see Stringer in on a crucial third down late in the game - unfortunate slip or could have had a huge conversion. Strangely, he's not listed in the participation stats.

And Koback, boy has he stepped up. That run on the final drive to blow by the corner and tip-toe on the sideline was a thing of beauty. He has 628 yards in 5 games, and is now 4th in the nation in yards per game and 19th in touchdowns.

I thought Bauer did a nice job for a guy I never heard of. Made some big plays. We are YOUNG in the defensive backfield. Bodes well for the future. Some of those breakups were the result of perfect timing.

Pretty much lays to rest any thoughts on expanding the GB, which is something I have hoped for and envisioned over the years...
Just like UT leaving the MAC . - It will never happen...

I think this team will go as far as the QB play will take them, good or bad. Suppose you could say that about any team, but to me QB remains the most inconsistent position (and yes tied to WR and OL play as well) on this team and one that could hold them back or push them to championship.

yep, is a trend and situation we have seen for last several years, hope remains for better crowds and more sell-outs to justify GB expansion and conference move yet continue to be disappointed, but yesterday was clear evidence that neither are in the cards as what more would it take for the local community to show up 25,000+??

north and central end of east side, both lower and upper decks had large areas of vacant seats all game, so the 22,000 attendance sounds about right. It was a good solid crowd with great attendance byf season ticket holders and decent turnout by students, but far short of what one could expect for a beautiful late Saturday afternoon Rockets football game.

But MG is leading the MAC in pass efficiency, again and doing much better on deciding when to run, when to slide, etc. We’re fine at QB if he stays healthy.

Oh I don't think he is close to playing terrible, just seems inconsistent at times, missing a few key reads, missed passes (some dropped) and its not just his play but the passing game overall (WRs, OL). Few things that need to be cleaned up to bring his game up and rise team performance. And I agree the run decisions are much improved. MAC is a QB and passing league, usually best of those are want gets team a championship, he is getting better as is team but some improvements would go a long way.

Great win! This is a very interesting team on many levels. Not our best but they are indeed winning and that’s all that matters.

Toledo is historically a Saturday night football team. UT in the 10yr plus year past only played one home day game a year and that was homecoming. Get back to consistent scheduling and a scheduling identity and crowds will improve but ESPN stands in the way.

Go Rockets!
