Yeah, I imagine this was a freebie between the university, the floor company, and Desoto. Probably a floor company employee with zero charge.

But I do get it about the loud micrority on social media.

It looked to me like they painted over the entire field between the three point line and the lane; i.e. they painted it after Jason Smith’s tweet from Landers Center. My seats are in the upper deck so I may be mistaken. I could not see any wood grain (stain) within the 3 point line.

Also, the lighting in the Forum is new—I don’t recall seeing anything about that in either newspaper.

That would make sense. If you look closely at the picture from Landers Center you can see the brown wood grain does not exactly match where the paint was sanded away. Thus painting over all the brown wood grain within the 3 point line would be the best solution to match it. I think it looks REALLY nice now, especially with the shade of gray they used for the new color. It's much better than the original brown wood grain.
