That .pdf is 141 pages. Where is the part about UCF and $1M guarantee?

Fastest way to find it is CTRL-F "Florida".

RE: UConn future scheduling, or lack thereof.
IF you go down to Amendment 13, it's a resolution allowing the AD to sign contracts for more than $1,000,000. Existing UConn procedures seem to allow that (based on what this letter says) for less than $1M without BOT review.

So there are probably other game contracts with under $1M guarantee money.

I know that it suc** that UCF has to pay a mill to play UConn at home, but shows how much a home game at UCF means, financially.

Well this gives us another home game, which I expect we make more than 1mil on. While filling out the schedule without agreeing to an away game. Win for UCF. and UConn just needs games, so win for them as well.

My guess is that the schedule is really crappy and they are planning to release it all at once rather than relive the bashing they’ll receive with each new scheduling announcement.

RE: UConn future scheduling, or lack thereof.
New update: Based on what I found at fbschedules.com, below are the FBS teams that currently do not have their 2020 non-conference FB slate filled.

School (Home-Away)

Air Force (5-6) [already scheduled Army and Navy; no FCS scheduled]
Old Dominion (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]
Southern Miss (5-6) [no FCS scheduled]
Texas Tech (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]
UAB (5-6) [no FCS scheduled]
Virginia Tech (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]

And the following schools still have a 13th game they could schedule, since they're playing at Hawaii in 2020.

Boise State (7-5) [no FCS scheduled]
Nevada (6-6) [scheduled FCS UC Davis]
New Mexico State (5-7) [already scheduled UNM, UTEP, and FCS Texas Southern]
UCLA (6-6) [no FCS scheduled, as they've never played FCS, but since USC will be...]
UNLV (7-5) [no FCS scheduled]

So here's the latest version of my best-case scenario for UConn's 2020 schedule:

(01) Thu, 09/03: Massachusetts
(02) Sat, 09/12: @ Illinois
(03) Sat, 09/19: Maine (FCS)
(04) Sat, 09/26: Indiana
(05) Sat, 10/03: @ Bowling Green [replaces Liberty @ Bowling Green]
(06) Sat, 10/10: Liberty [ULM @ Liberty moves from 10/10 to 10/03]
(07) Sat, 10/17: @ Southern Miss
(08) Sat, 10/24: @ UAB
(09) Sat, 10/31: New Mexico State [NMSU has a bye this week]
(10) Sat, 11/07: @ Massachusetts [replaces NMSU @ UMass; NMSU gets a bye instead]
(11) Sat, 11/14: @ Liberty [replaces FCS Western Carolina @ Liberty]
(12) Sat, 11/21: BYE
(13) Sat, 11/28: @ New Mexico State [NMSU has a bye this week]

TCU (5-5) [haven't yet scheduled SMU (would be at SMU), but would still be short an OOC game; no FCS scheduled]
Texas Tech (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]
UAB (5-6) [no FCS scheduled]

(12) Sat, 11/21: BYE
(13) Sat, 11/28: @ New Mexico State [NMSU has a bye this week]

How on earth can you even print that we might schedule UConn twice when we already have twelve games scheduled through 2022.

What we need is scholarship players as only have in the 60's and many are very young, so scholarship wise we will not be up to the 85 limit for a few years and still be young. So tough sledding for a few years. We have faith, just like UConn fans and their scheduling.

RE: UConn future scheduling, or lack thereof.
Dave Benedict said he expects no additional FCS games beyond Maine in 2020. He would not comment on how many Power Five opponents there may be.

If that turns out to be true, given the timing of UConn's withdrawal from the AAC, that would be nothing short of miraculous. A lot of credit would need to be given to their athletic department for pulling together a full independent schedule in such a small amount of time.

I assume the goal posts will just be shifted into a discussion of travel miles and the merits of the Bad Boy Mowers Bowl.

How on earth can you even print that we might schedule UConn twice when we already have twelve games scheduled through 2022.

Well, roughly speaking, everybody is full up for 2020. So SOMEBODY has to move existing games to make room for UConn. And the lower-level indies (UMass, NMSU, Liberty) have a strategic interest in making sure that UConn survives as an FBS program. Nobody else has anything at stake. You don't like the idea of home-and-home with UConn? What, do you think Arkansas fans will want to see UConn instead of....(checks notes)....Nevada or ULM or an FCS game?

No FBS school has fans sitting around watching this thinking, man I hope we get a game with UConn. Nobody. Maybe Syracuse fan wouldn't mind, but that's about it.

So looking at it that way, Nerdlinger has UConn cut deals with:
Bowling Green and Liberty,
UMass and NMSU
Southern Miss
UAB.

That's the least complicated path to 11 FBS games for UConn.

Playing some twice does not make sense for us with our schedule. Think it's more important to do them and us a favor in 2021 and 2022 to get them on the schedule. But to play some twice just seems strange if your not named NMSU and Liberty has money so think they have no further need. Remember UConn has refused to play UMass in BB since we beat them at home a long time ago. So don't know how much we will really bend over for them.

TCU (5-5) [haven't yet scheduled SMU (would be at SMU), but would still be short an OOC game; no FCS scheduled]
Texas Tech (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]
UAB (5-6) [no FCS scheduled]
Virginia Tech (6-5) [no FCS scheduled]

And the following schools still have a 13th game they could schedule, since they're playing at Hawaii in 2020.

Boise State (7-5) [no FCS scheduled]
Nevada (6-6) [scheduled FCS UC Davis]
New Mexico State (5-7) [already scheduled UNM, UTEP, and FCS Texas Southern]
UCLA (6-6) [no FCS scheduled, as they've never played FCS, but since USC will be...]
UNLV (7-5) [no FCS scheduled]

So here's the latest version of my best-case scenario for UConn's 2020 schedule:

(01) Thu, 09/03: Massachusetts
(02) Sat, 09/12: @ Illinois
(03) Sat, 09/19: Maine (FCS)
(04) Sat, 09/26: Indiana
(05) Sat, 10/03: @ Bowling Green [replaces Liberty @ Bowling Green]
(06) Sat, 10/10: Liberty [ULM @ Liberty moves from 10/10 to 10/03]
(07) Sat, 10/17: @ Southern Miss
(08) Sat, 10/24: @ UAB
(09) Sat, 10/31: New Mexico State [NMSU has a bye this week]
(10) Sat, 11/07: @ Massachusetts [replaces NMSU @ UMass; NMSU gets a bye instead]
(11) Sat, 11/14: @ Liberty [replaces FCS Western Carolina @ Liberty]
(12) Sat, 11/21: BYE
(13) Sat, 11/28: @ New Mexico State [NMSU has a bye this week]

Quote:What we need is scholarship players as only have in the 60's and many are very young, so scholarship wise we will not be up to the 85 limit for a few years and still be young. So tough sledding for a few years. We have faith, just like UConn fans and their scheduling.

Playing @UConn 2020 or home-and-home with UConn 2020 doesn't really help or hurt you here, as far as I can tell.

Adding a game with UConn in 2020 doesn't make sense for anybody, really. But they've got 6 new games lined up with *somebody*.

Good point about not playing you in basketball.
