Chuck Grassley: Whistleblower Should Be 'Protected'
Excerpt:

The Iowa Republican’s statement diverges from the opinions of his fellow congressional Republicans such as Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and John Cornyn of Texas, as well as California Reps. Kevin McCarthy and Devin Nunes and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, who have all expressed skepticism regarding the whistleblower’s second- and third-hand accounts.

Will Repubs Fall In Line?

Protection is what enables the liars and traitors to do their thing. If the “whistle blowing” is legitimate and the country is at stake, man up and face the nation. If you are truthful and honest you will be a hero. If you are a liar and traitor you will want to do your backstabbing in the dark.

While I wish that were true, you know it isn't. The other political party will do anything to destroy someone that is threatening their guy/gal.

The Whistleblower rules were set to protect you from retaliation from those who you blew the whistle on. It is a slippery slope. We are not talking about some boss trying to nail his secretary here.
You shouldn't be quick to throw words around like "traitor" and "leaker" without full context and investigation.

Everybody's defense is to immediately discredit the person/accuser who made the charge. Not just here but in any defense under any accusation based reporting.

What are the actual facts - is this really an impeachable offense, or is is a political thing.

Once this has been credited/discredited - if it was in fact a made up story - the person responsible should be made public. If this is a true story and an actual infraction (impeachable or not) the person should remain anonymous.

The president (or anybody) should not worry about insiders telling on them if they are not doing anything to be told on in the first place.

the issue is how it's spun based on agenda...

The whistleblower reported on a conversation that is now available to all unredacted. What else is there to whistleblow?

Exactly - so who cares who did this - it does not look like they lied about their account(s) of the whole thing.

And typically whistleblowers are known specifically so no retaliation can be made against them. Does anybody doubt that hundreds if not thousands know who this person is?
