There is major bucks for travel especially for FB. The Southland travel will be less than the Lone Star. The WAC never made sense for Tarleton. Perhaps when it's finished transition and has actual NCAA money coming.
I agree with both of those points. Costs will increase and the Southland always appeared to be the better fit (with football).
I know you continue to push the idea that the WAC will restart FBS football.
What if they are starting FCS with Dixie, Tarleton and then selling other D2 schools to move up combined with showing Big Sky and Southland schools that their leagues are bloated for a 1bid league and actually peel some existing members away .
The FCS California schools will join the WAC.
The Northern Big Sky teams will join the Summit.
So they will be peeled away anyway.
The Big Sky will need more teams so Dixie St, UVU, and Seattle will join the remaining schools with a much smaller map and easier and less expensive travel.
Tarleton St will slip in the Southland when Sam Houston St, Lamar, and McNeese go to the WAC.
So much better for Tarleton. Have ACU as a travel partner with relatively little travel in the Southland.
This system is coming soon, but nobody here believes it unfortunately.
Schools with higher aspirations will leave the Southland and Big Sky as they have done for 40 years. Texas St and North Texas used to be Southland schools just as Boise St and Nevada used to be Big Sky schools.
Every Big Sky school that will leave have had major facility improvements. They aren’t spending that kind of money to stay FCS.
