Chicago State vs NIU
The huskies play in Chicago on December 19th for men’s basketball. I think it’d be cool if the huskies had a strong road showing in that game fan wise. I know it’s on a Thursday and that might be a pain in the ass for some people to get to the city on that particular day, but it would definitely be a good look on us as a fan base I believe.

Beautiful arena, guaranteed good seat. Highly recommend going. You have to cross a gate attendant to park so security is a non-issue if anyone’s concerned.

With 200,000-plus alumni in Chicagoland (??) would be a good game to promo as "local."

This is great. I think Athletics should really promote this game.

RE: Chicago State vs NIU
How about a feature on the official website with the game directions and a map (I'll bet many hardly know where it is or best routes to get there, even within the city). And insert/blowup of entrance road, gate and parking. Make it as easy as possible for "local" fans.

Add some kind of NIU giveaway at the game; maybe ask CSU to designate an entrance as special for Huskies fans for the giveaway table. Tie in some worthy cause to promote that benefits city kids, etc., or some program connected to CSU community efforts. I can't see Chicago State objecting since they'd love to have a big crowd too, and their athletic department needs all the promo it can get. I see effort but little cost to NIU.

Also !!!! I checked each sked, and UIC, DePaul, Loyola and Northwestern mbb AND the Chicago Bulls ... do not play on Dec. 19.

You pray your car does not break down getting you and the family to the gated and secure parking lot. Risk versus reward. I will take a pass.

No lol. I wouldn’t suggest going for a walk there at night, but it’s not any worse than the areas if you venture too far away from the UC/Credit Union 1 arena.

I was literally there for work 2 days ago. Its not that bad. But - there's a lot of nothing around there, and a very small school population (3k). Probably not a fun game to attend.

Only 156 people shot and 34 of those died this year in that area of Chatham and Roseland this year. How many in Dekalb?
