Purdue

Kentucky
Cincinnati

When Alex was being recruited we visited each of those programs except for Purdue. Based on what we saw, I don't think CC's personality/style would be a fit at Kentucky. Iowa State is a possibility, but it's in the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure he and his family would like the cornfield life.

Cincinnati, though...that is one I'd be concerned about nabbing him. It's a decent FBS program with a lot of local support and an incredible gameday atmosphere. They do a rally before each game that takes over their whole quad. The team then walks across campus through the rally on their way to the game, led by the marching band. The stadium is pretty awesome, too. Damn...you had to mention Cincy, didn't you?

Agree about Pitt. Whether he wants to go up against Clemson is another matter...

P.S. Not sure the Pitt job will come open soon. Their HC, Pat Narduzzi, has a winning record in the ACC.

As far as Iowa State. He coached at Drake which is in Des Moines. Ames and Des Moines are about 30 miles apart.

Not sure that the ISU job will open up. I don't think Matt Campbell's job is in danger.

i'm not afraid these coaches are in danger. i think theyll be hired away by bigger schools.

I must have missed this announcement (or they JUST made this change), but in an email from athletics today I just saw this info:

"BEVERAGE SALES
NEW to the Factory this season, beer sales are available at select locations along the west concourse! With select craft beer options from Arbor Brewing Co. in Ypsilanti, you can now take your drink beyond Touchdown Terrace to enjoy in your seats."

We can finally bring beer to our seats!

Happy to report that I participated in that (twice) at the CCSU game.

I'm sure your participation was deeply appreciated. I'm awfully certain I will follow your example for the next game.

They won’t care much about academics, conduct and other less tangible accomplishments. They care about wins and losses.

LJM this might be your first post that I agree with! You are indeed 100% veracious in your statement.

Power 5 alumni and boosters are infinitely more involved in the hire of a new football coach than a place like EMU. Witness the recent uprising in Knoxville when UT extended a contract offer to Greg Shiano. They bought up his Penn St past but truthfully that was a subterfuge to their true desire to hire a better coach. Due to some false reports and fake photographs, they had actually convinced themselves that John Gruden was interested in the job.

Shiano had no verified ties to the Sandusky scandal, but these folks were concerned with one thing as you say, wins and losses. They smeared a good coaches name in the meantime and I will heartily root against them every time they play. 1-3 so far this year and I am very happy.

If Creighton leaves, I won’t miss him.

Have we won a bowl game or the MAC West yet?

Geynk was a better coach with worse resources.

Based on yesterday's performance I would say the big contract record has skipped. You have to WIN consistently here before you go somewhere else. This season is on the line.

3Man Weave predictions each conference every year and they just hit the MAC.

Let's just say it's not that good....

My favorite quote: "Sure, the ‘offense’ may look a lot like the teams you played last weekend in your local YMCA rec league (translated: stand around and watch one or two guys do their thing)"

Really solid analysis, actually. I was surprised. It’s nice to see someone take a dive into the new JUCOs. I think we have a higher floor than he does, but he did finish the article by mentioning the parity of the MAC.

I’m intrigued by this team, if only because of having so many new players. If we can knock down some 3’s, we’ll at least be more aesthetically pleasing than we’ve been at really any time in Murphy’s tenure. Hard to expect many wins, though.
