RE: Georgia Southern @ South Alabama Game Thread
My Hulu app stopped working at the start of the 4th quarter. At first I was mad, but now i realize it was doing me a favor.

RE: Georgia Southern @ South Alabama Game Thread
Sometimes we as fans look back at a game and think “If this one thing had (or hadn’t) happened we would have won.” There were multiple “one things” that could have happened that would have flipped the result. When GS got the ball with 4:25 left in the game, I said to the people around me “If we somehow win this game, we also deserve to lose.”

I said the exact same thing about Georgia Southern on Twitter and actually had a coach go off on me for it.

Georgia Southern ran twice as many plays, had the ball for twice as much time, and eked out a win in 2OT.

That just ain’t gonna cut it.

Where is your speed? You watch Navy (different offense, I know) and they attack the edges and are able to get chunk plays. You watch Tulane (similar offense to Southern) and they can run and throw the ball extremely well. Seems you guys are, once again, in a confused place between the option and a spread option; the latter of which requires the ability to move the ball through the air.

We've got some speed guys.

However the bigger issue is that we're not consistently clearing out running lanes or cutting off defenders at the second level. The scheme now doesn't spread the interior defense as much as our schemes in the past, so there's a higher likelihood of running lanes getting jammed up if we don't make blocks. Also our WR blocking is not as consistent as it has been in the past which makes plays that do get outside go further.

A lot of it is more of a result of our play up front and inconsistency in blocking than it does how fast we are.

Southern has to win at least two more games to have 5 wins between us. How bad is that?
