Exclamation Up Next: Friday Night Showdown #18 UCF
Early line has us 3.5 point dogs. If there was ever a game that we absolutely need to win it's this one. Win and we're squarely on target to take the East Division with Temple looming and we're back in the conversation to be ranked. I said this in another thread - Ridder needs to perform when the lights are dialed up on the big stage. He's played well outside of Ohio St but this game will provide a major challenge with our conference title game hopes on the line. Man I hope the Nip will be filled to the brim providing the 12th man home field advantage.

Forecast is 70 and sunny that day. Perfect fall day/ evening. No excuses for anything less that 40,000 and a stadium that feels more like a cauldron.......

Yea, Nip should be rocking and hopefully we come out ready to play. Hopefully we can limit penalties and play to our ability. If we do that I think it will be a very good game. Hopefully this will be the point when the top dog of the conference shifts into our hands.

Not sure if it will effect attendance, but there are a lot of HS Homecomings going on right now. Would have been nice had they scheduled this game on a Saturday night instead of Friday.

Our OL and secondary had better channel their inner Nordic Berserker. I’ll honestly be surprised if this game ends within a two TD spread. UCF may not be as not as big as OSU but they are stupid fast on both sides of the ball.

It almost appeared like the staff got too worked up and uptight and it bled over onto the field in this game last year when things spiraled out of control. Here is hoping for less super psycho billy freak out and more surgical approach ala marshal.

UCF lost at Pitt. Doesn't mean they're not good but it definitely means they're not the team they have been the last couple years. Nor should they be without Milton. If we're a good team then this is a game that you give yourself a good chance of winning.

is there anything to glean from the Pitt loss? i was traveling the first 3 quarters or so but the last quarter i saw some questionable coaching decisions (turning it over on down inside the redzone), and a lack of discipline by their defense keeping a bunch of Pitt drives alive. Full credit to Pitt for executing on that last drive but it certainly seems like UCF made some crucial errors. i know Pitt also got a special teams TD (which they gave back later in the game) but is there anything else to pull from that loss?

If gabriel has to make quick decisions he will make mistakes and take sacks. They haven't missed a beat most the season but pitt was in his head. If UC gets pressure they'll be a chance to force him into mistakes.

It was a bit of a strange game. Pitt ran the wildcat direct snap to a RB about 15 times with decent success. Blocked a punt for a TD. Their QB threw the ball about 50 times, mostly little dink and dunk and screen attempts.

Narduzzi’s DL is stout. They pressured Gabriel all game which forced him into some turnovers and to hurry passes and miss a few wide open guys for plays that should have been scores.

That being said, UCF looked like they were on a completely different level from an athletic viewpoint on both sides of the ball. Their special teams guys are crazy fast...they seem to have a stable of guys like Tre Tucker.

Thankfully, our program is moving beyond having to worry about competing with high schools for attendance. We've developed a stronger season ticket base, overflow demand for student seats and a growing cohort of recent graduates who want to be part of the tradition in historic Nippert.

We enjoy excellent high school football in the tri-state. But this is major college football against the #18 team in the country on prime time national TV. Unless I'm a high school football parent, I wouldn't pass this up for any secondary school activity. Unless of course the Rolling Stones decided to make an appearance to play for the homecoming dance.

I will miss the game to go to a high school game instead. My hometown still comes before my college.

This game is the PREMIER event of the entire weekend. Elder vs. St. X is a close second.

Their fan base is so arrogant, they are becoming borderline OSU and UK fans, there will be so many heads explode when the Cats win Friday night I can't wait to hear the excuses....04-cheers

Offense has to show up at home. They're going to get their points, but their defense can be breached. You can't expect to totally contain them on offense so it's critical Des and the gang put their best foot forward for us to have a chance to win. Crowd should help.

I'm driving the float for my DD's team in the Homecoming parade Friday night. Already told the wife and kids I'm not going to the (HS) game so I can get home to watch the Cats. I'll be looking like the Delta House Death Mobile flying down the street after I drop those kids off at the stadium!

Can't wait for the game. Love the Nipp a night! Hoping for a raucous sellout.
This is a real test to see how the Cats have progressed.
Going to Midnight Madness too.
I'm also running the Bearcat Bash 5K on Sunday.
(The tshirt is awesome, party after the run and you get a voucher for a football ticket.)
Full Bearcat Weekend on tap!

Plan on running the Bearcat 5k too mainly for the Tshirt.. that was really well done. I'd forgotten about it until 2 weeks ago, tried seeing if I could train for the 18.19k for the long sleeve shirt...... no that's out of the question.. short sleeve it is.
