Our dee does okay against the run but gets burned deep often. We use so many of our dbs in run support it opens us up to the long ball. Our number one db has been torched more than a homecoming bonfire.

Should make for a very ugly, very close game.

I didn't watch but how do you gain 578 yards and score 13 points? 04-jawdrop

I am shocked at the score margin. Did not see Marshall only scoring 13.

Repetitively going for fourth downs in the red zone, instead of taking easy points. Dang, Doc got out coached by Stockstill. Dwell on that.

What's sucks is there are still Doc apologists unlike the Snyder ERA. Doc will almost certainly last through his 2021 contract unless he resigns.

MT fans would kill for Stockstill's contract to run out in two seasons. That would be some real contract porn for some of us, just thinking of no more Stock in 2022.

13-3 until putaway score with 6 or 7 minutes to go. Very, very, very ugly game and very close until that score.

Actually I thought Helton called his best two drives of the season in the 4th quarter. Should have had 2 touchdowns but Storey played like a 17 year old boy touching his first titties and prematurely ejaculating down his leg on a beautifully called play and threw the ball 10’ high that soared over our tallest player.

Here's the cliff notes for this entire thread:

MTSU fans: we suck, Marshall will beat us 38-17
Marshall fans we suck, we will not beat you 38-17
MTSU fans: but we suck pretty bad
Marshall fans: we suck suckier
MTSU fans: ok. You win. Meaning WE win.
Marshall fans: we told you we sucked.

The End

That's inaccurate. 4k viewings. I've got 30 people at my bar watching one of those. I imagine there are more sets of eyes on all of those. And it's the chicken or the egg. A lot of people don't even know how to get the Facebook streams. People ask all day long how they can watch the game and on the message boards. So the TV deal has killed viewership just as much as the viewership has killed TV. If we were on ESPN right now more people than just the fans who aren't at the game and the fans, at all, would be watching because it's football on ESPN. There is zero casual draw for streamed games.

No one is going out of their way to watch that absolute **** unless they are a fan of one of the teams or a CUSA fan curious about an upcoming matchup with one of the teams.

We did however have 32k last week for our game vs Cincy. And almost 28k for the Ohio game. I'm not worried about our fans impact on the CUSA TV deal. I'm worried about the other 11-12 teams in this conference that don't have any fans.

First of all, see my follow up post.

Secondly, ok let’s assume there’s another 20 bars across the state of WV with a similar setup as the one you’re at, 30ish people watching (which I’m willing to bet there isn’t)...but still, let’s assume there is. That’s still only 500 more people on top of the 4k people watching online. That’s still terrible.

Lol, there's 20 bars in Huntington, alone, showing this game with more than that in them....now add MTSU places, now add everyone gathered around TVs that are streaming the game at watching parties and family rooms, add the fact that unlike TV ratings the facebook stream isn't cumulative. It tells who is on at any given time, but people who tuned in would be much higher if done like TV counts.

And also add in the fact that we're only on Facebook because we got picked first by the highest tier of the CUSA TV package to be there for all 12 games. USM didn't even garner any interest by CUSA tier one carriers. So stop telling us how we are responsible for you having the 3rd and 4th options for watching your games.

PS it's not the bar I'm at....it's the bar I own.

Two fanbases that need coaching changes. You can only float along at 6-7 wins for so long. I'm not sure either are in danger. Both could finish around that same mark.

RE: ****W6: Marshall (2-2) @ Middle Tennessee (1-3), 2:30, Facebook Live****
Might have to agree with Marshall fans. Stockstill simply outcoached Doc yesterday. Hell I even told everyone pre game stay away from safeties and attack us up the middle in the run and on the corners when passing. When Marshall did that they got big plays and lots of yardage. When they didn’t they got turnovers, penalties, and bad plays. They did do a good job of staying away from Blankenship but there was the other guy back there Moffett who will be your defensive POW in the league this week. Marshall coaching staff blew that. In the run game we finally took away the zone read in the second half after defensive adjustments at halftime. Literally all Marshall had to do was run up the middle when we were in zone and throw at the corners when we went man.

Every time Stockstill goes up against a legit head coach he almost always gets outcoached. Game 1 UAB last year and the FAU game being exceptions a year ago. We have too many holes on our defense that Kiffin - this year - will be able to exploit. It’s hard to see us getting out of Boca next week with a win.

MT and Marshall have the same coaching problem. But yesterday Doc got played by another average coach. So I can definitely empathize with the Herd folks.

Why don’t we just combine forces? We could be called Marshall Tennessee.

The Thundering Raiders? Or just the Blue Herd.... our combined herd would likely still give us the blues.

That is the awesomest thing that’s happened in this conference since the last realignment.

Yes. And that’s unfortunate because the fans that show up tend to sit on the same side as the camera in the grand stands. So all we ever saw was a look at the traditionally less populated visitor side.

I believe it wasn’t all that full. I just wanted a quick pan to see if we had at least a decent smattering of folks. You’d have thought they could have shot a group of fans or even students cheering after a touchdown or other big play. Nope. Too busy showing off the press box and truck.
