O$U looks like a championship team. Problem is they won’t face a real test until the CFP.

Ohio State will face Wisconsin at the end of October. That will be a good test for the OSU defense as Wisconsin again looks to have 3 or 4 NFL players on that offensive line.

Another important factor is that we lost 42-0 AT Ohio’s State. A good Nebraska team is down 38-0 in first half at Nebraska. Who knows if it means much, but hopefully thy bodes well for the rest of our season!

A good Nebraska team? They let the Illini put up 38 points on them. in general the b10 is overrated, again; and it's hard to tell how good any of their ranked teams are. i'm sure osu is good, even top 5 worthy. Best in the nation? Hard to tell since they haven't been tested.

Hypothetically if we played a schedule of all 14 Big Ten schools at neutral locations this year looking through Bearcat rose colored glasses I think we would win 8 to 11 games. I think right now except against OSU, Wisconsin and maybe Penn State we could be very competitive.

Yeaaaah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on that.

O$U will jam up the box to stop Taylor and dare Wisconsin's game manager QB to beat them passing. That aint gonna happen.

They'll go through the B1G like sh*t through a goose.

Our only hope is that Clemson can get their act together or perhaps their old friend Burrow at LSU can spread that defense out.

Otherwise their going to kill everyone to death.

found this to be interesting from the creator of SP+.. per Connelly's computer, AAC has 4 top 40 teams.. the ACC has 2. Also if you didn't know, UCONN sucks a$$ and drags our conference rating down tremendously

Our first casualty:

BREAKING: Chris Ash was fired Sunday as Rutgers head coach in a shakeup that also includes the dismissal of offensive coordinator John McNulty. Nunzio Campanile will take over as interim head coach for the rest of the season. The report: https://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/2019/...-over.html

I'd be shocked if Leavitt gets it. Surprised if it's Butchie. I don't know how their fanbase feels about Schiano. He could be the guy if they still love him.

I wonder how Ash's relationship with Luke was at OSU. If it was very good, I could see him landing on our staff especially if we were to lose somebody this offseason.

from espn:

Quote:In late 2017, Rutgers extended Ash's contract through the 2022 season, awarding him an additional $5.1 million in compensation. NJ.com reported that Rutgers was contractually obligated to extend Ash because of NCAA sanctions placed on the program stemming from his predecessor, Kyle Flood.

As part of his buyout, Rutgers will owe Ash approximately $8.47 million, with part of his $2.3 million salary from this year still to be paid and the $7.5 million he is owed through the 2022 season.

McNulty's departure erases some long-awaited stability at offensive coordinator. The only offensive coordinator to coach for more than one season at Rutgers since he did it during his first stint in Piscataway from 2007 to 2008, McNulty has another year left on a three-year deal that pays him $625,000 this season. He is owed about $900,000...

Rutgers went 8-5 in its Big Ten debut season of 2014 but hasn't won more than four games since. Former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano, who went 68-67 in 11 seasons and led the Scarlet Knights to six bowl appearances, could be a leading candidate to return. Schiano spent the past three seasons as Ohio State's defensive coordinator and briefly joined the New England Patriots' staff earlier this year before stepping down.

Other potential candidates include Texas A&M defensive coordinator Mike Elko, Army coach Jeff Monken, former Tennessee coach Butch Jones and Michigan linebackers coach Anthony Campanile (brother of Nunzio).

Rutgers could give Schiano an entirely incentive-laden contract. He could be their answer to Randy Edsall.

I guess it all depends on your definition of what a good team is. Nebraska may not be anything special, but in my opinion they are a good team.

I wouldn’t say the B10 is any over rated than any other conference outside the SEC. Would you take the PAC 12 over the B10? The ACC over the B10? The B12? The second best conference IMO with some very good second tier teams outside OSU. Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc...

I don’t think Wisconsin will be much of an issue. The game will be at OSU and I don’t think Wisconsin’s Defense will be able to stop OSU’s offense and I think the OSU defense will be able to slow down their running attack with that DLine they have.

Penn State also has to play OSU in Columbus so I don’t think that will be much of an issue either.

OSU seems to own Michigan so even tho that is at Michigan I don’t expect that to be much of a game either.

That’s not to say those teams aren’t really good, but each one of them is in the second tier of teams, at best and a clear notch below the elite teams that will be in the CFP.

He was such a lovely train wreck. All teams started the games against USF with 10 points already on the board at the opening kickoff due to his freak out antics and his team being guaranteed to lose their collective sh!t causing silly personal fouls at crunch time. Dude coached like a crazy Little League parent.

They could combine Rutgers and Uconn's football programs and have both Schiano and Edsall and they would likely still be bad.

Illinois is average at best, but definitely not good. I’m not going to put a lot of stock in a team coming close at home.

A lot of people picked Nebraska to win the B10 West this year in the preseason. Seemed a bit far fetched to me, but they are a good team, with some solid young players. My guess is they will struggle some on the road and against very good-elite teams, which is what we’ve pretty much seen from them this year.

As far as pollsters inflating B10 teams, isn’t that what they do with all P5 teams in general outside the elite teams?
