RE: Fire Coach Norvell
Fans get caught up in the game and the only way they can contribute us to cheer or boo. I don’t think we should boo our on guys, but yes I did boo Brady in the 3rd quarter when he refused to run fir the 1st down. By then the crowd was so put out with him there was nothing else to do. I don’t usually boo our team, but this time I couldn’t help it.

Yea bring back Porter and Cannon Smith... morons.

HCMN and his QB are performing at a high enough level to have earned our patience and support.

I hope you arent taking a swipe at Cannon Smith...

While reading this thread I was thinking how this reminds me of.... Cannon Smith...

Fans start piling on and it doesn't matter whether he deserves it or not, the next you know he is the constant scapegoat.

I used to point out... ok so their RB ran through our DL, right past our LBs, skated around our DBs, and Cannon misses the tackle and every idiot fan in Memphis starts shouting CANNON SMITH!!!!!!!!.... pretty sure cause his name was the only name they knew on defense, so everything was his fault.

Also, it kind of blows your point if you say we shouldnt be booing the players, then immediately take a slap at one of our players.

You are talking about the time he threw it away on the play before the touchdown pass to Coxie.

Also the 2nd or third down where he scrambled and had 15 years in front of him and a wide open Coxis (i think) at about the 10 30 hards downfield and he threw it at least 10 yards over his head. I think that sunk the series after we stopped them on 4th on their side of the field. That was when the boos were loudest I thought.

I did not boo, but I groaned very loudly.

When we did get the ball on offense 1st half ,things did not seem to be clicking. Heard a few fans question Whites choices but I did not hear anyone go after him ?

I did. We have a bunch of newbies in our section and they’ve been complaining constantly. Boo birds when we run the ball. Boo birds when we pass the ball.

We have “some” fans that are so spoiled with instant big play offense that heaven forbid when a no gain or a mundane play happens. Brady was 14 of 18 with 3 TDS. He isn’t flashy and rarely big play. But he deserves better than what we saw/heard Thursday night even when things were not looking good. Games are 4 quarters and 60 minutes long. We are playing with a young inexperienced line and missing a couple of our big play guys. RB are talented but all young.

Boo birds need to understand these are young impressionable guys and the boos hurt. Our recruits hear it also.

Boos are like spraying shotgun pellets into a crowd. Err'body on the team got ears.

Who is the crowd booing? The team is a close-knit group...unselfish and bonded. They are 'trained' to be a family and to have each others' backs forever.

We are all supposed to be a family. Do we boo our family when they are struggling?

I boo my family when they aren't... 03-drunk

Ok, the obvious is he is not the best college QB out there, but if our head coach thinks he is the best we have, then I trust our Coach!

Or, if you critics out there think you know more than our coach, then let’s just fire Coach Norvell who just happens to be one of the winningest coaches we have had lately. I am sure we could go out and bring back Tommy West. Maybe better yet we could even rehire Larry Porter. This would serve two purposes as it would also alleviate all the traffic issues at our stadium and parking would be so much easier under either one of these two.

I am in agreement that Brady may cost us a game down the line somewhere, but his playing time is a “coach’s decision”. Sure I question his play, but I am not going out and booing him which is a direct reflection on our successful team and our coach.

Hopefully in the next few weeks if all the critics don’t fire Coach Norvell, he and Brady can figure this out and get our QB a little more confidence!

Go Tigers!

Anyone who booed White is trash.

You just called them white trash, that's racist.

Happens every where all the time. That play Brady made was terrible according to the announcer. He understood the boos and made up for it quite admirably.

Get over yourselves.

Do we really want Brady White, or any of our players, yelling **** y’all at the booing fans. lol

In my travels, I’ve found that 04-rock Memphis is a different city from ‘everywhere’. We who were raised here, or who have adopted the city as our home, know there is a unique and unifying vibe that bridges all major divides in this city.

Maybe it’s the music, maybe it’s sports, or the magnificent River...Or maybe it’s just the basic goodness of so many caring people living in proximity to each other ....

I don’t know what brings folks together to make this city different from ‘Everywhere’ in such a powerfully good way. But we are lucky to have this bond.

Let’s don't be like everywhere and other colleges. I don’t think we want the kind of game experience that would come with BW or any of our kids telling the booing fans to ‘**** y’all ’ like they do ‘everywhere all the time’

But I could be wrong . lol

The Chamber of Commerce said they'll have your check in the mail soon. 03-razz
