RE: Open Thread - 2019 Football - Week 4
Last year I doubt UNC is even competitive with App St. Seemed like a tight game, Mac Brown seems like he is going to make UNC into a good team possibly even by the end of the year.

I realize ASU is also in year 1 of a new coach, but I think something can be said about a team full of players that has spent years in a winning culture vs one that has been on a decline since 2015. Still, it was a good win and a stepping stone toward a Boise St. type of relevancy amongst G5 peers. It has taken BSU over 10 years of consistent winning for the rest of the college football landscape to accept them as a legit program. ASU seems early on in that journey and it also helps if the SunBelt conference can up their game a little just like the MWC has done or is doing.

They still have yet to find a coach as good as Wandstedt, which in hindsight was a bad firing. That’s why I think Addazio should be safe if the fans and AD had any sense, BC is overachieving with him at the helm.

Narduzzi is in year 5. After this weekend any questions about his status are settled barring a complete collapse down the stretch. The fans were restless after Penn State, but the AD is not restless. She just gave him a 7 year contract. He is going nowhere unless they find him doing something illegal.

Wanny was fired by our previous AD because he had a person beef with him. He was an idiot who destroyed Nebraska football and crippled Pitt for a decade.

Pitt football should never suffer long down periods like that.

I loved Wanny at Pitt. He recruited there like crazy. I believe he had a couple of top 10 recruiting classes. He was the last coach to get Pitt to double digit wins. I believe Pitt would have been the NE version of Clemson if Wanny had stayed and got a real good OC. He had some great defenses at Pitt.
