I need to know the time for the Rice game. When will it be announced?

Two weeks before most likely. That's when our AD will know what time the SEC teams are playing.

Alabama is off that day, and Auburn plays at Florida. Looking at the SEC slate that day, I anticipate Auburn being the 2:30 CBS game since it is the only game with both teams ranked. CBS will probably announce that in the next day or so, so maybe we'll hear something soon after. I'm wondering if they're thinking night game.

I’d be ok with a 6pm kickoff.

Just confirmed that Auburn-Florida will be CBS at 2:30. I'd like a night game too.

It's silly that we feel the need to set our game times is accordance to what other teams do. Hey what time does Bumf*** Poly Tech State U play as we can't play at the same time they do.

That's a really myopic way of looking at it. Look, the bottom line is we are trying to expand the fanbase, and the majority of the people around are fans of two particular schools in the state. If we want them to jump on the bandwagon, we should make it easy for them, and scheduling around other games is a part of that. How does it hurt us in this situation? (Now, if they moved the game to a Tuesday night, then we might have something to complain about)

Well, we have moved games to Thursday for this reason, so no reason a Tuesday couldnt be in the future. Maybe I'm bitter because I couldnt attend the ASU game because it was moved to a Thursday, but could have had it been on Saturday.

It's one thing if TV dictates you play in a bad time slot, or dictates that you wait until two weeks before the game to schedule it, but I'm in the camp that we should do whats best for our team and our fans whenever it is in our power to do so. In this case it worked out in our favor, but our AD has shown that he is both willing to make us scorch in the sun when we could have played at night in September, and that he's willing to let us freeze at night when we could have played in the sun in November.

That's fair. And I'm bitter about the Thursday night games too- I missed last year and this year, and probably will next year, because of work. I guess I'm just looking at it on a case by case basis, and in this case it's a good move. And I don't think it is a good idea to just say across the board that we should never take into account what is going on around us. All one needs to do is look at 2017 attendance numbers, specifically how much lower it was for the UTEP game, which was the same day as the Iron Bowl.

It will be a great day when we have the support level needed to do whatever we want.
Alabama Coach Nick Saban wishes for that for his program too!

In reply, do you think any of the TN universities care what time the others are having their games? Or MS, FL, KY, TX, LA or any other state where there are multiple D1 schools??? Call it myopic if you want but at some point you just have to stand up & say, we want fans of our program in the stands not fair weather fans & develop the fans base from there. If you put a good product on the field, fans will come.

It is important that we do whatever is necessary right now to get maximum attendance.
No we aren't going to get waxed again by the BOT to my knowledge.
It just helps perception wise.

Completely agree. We hate the talk, but we have good numbers at the moment. No need to do anything that would cause them to dip.

They are doing $1 hot dogs for the first half of the game.
