Monday Musings BYE WEEK ADDITION
After 1/2 the crowd had left the factory and another disappointing momentum killing game. A miracle happened and a kid from Clinton blocked a Punt and saved the season.
We did not look good against an FCS team but we won the game.
We paid 325k for a home game vs CCSU so we could collect a million from UK to go there but we won the game.
CMU and WMU looked good against two bad ACC teams but they did not win.
Toledo and NIU are still the giants of the division.
Brady Hoke Ball State Head Football Coach 2020.
Hopefully we do not do anything that our friends down M-17 did during their bye week.
Finally a question, how much does it cost for a team to go on a Road trip? I am guessing 25,000-50,000. But hope someone can enlighten me.

- I think EMU can win 7-8 games this season. That was a poor performance but those games happen. CMU won 8 games in 2017 and we basically had the same thing happen against Rhode Island and they were not a solid FCS team. I don't know how good CCSU is, their wins are against poor FCS teams. But they hung with EMU so they are probably solid. It's a win opposed to a loss.
- I don't think NIU is very good. They probably lose 2-3 MAC games.
- UM sucks. Laughable team that would struggle with Toledo.
- WMU looks solid, I am shocked they are 17 point favorites over us. That is enormous for a MAC game let alone after our showing against Miami. Maybe I'm wrong.

RE: Monday Musings BYE WEEK ADDITION
I'm hearing stories of players across FB sitting out after 4 games and preparing to transfer.
Think I heard of one in the CMU/WMU game. Also the star QB for Howard, Caylin Newton, Cam's brother.
I think this was an unintended consequence.

For sure Steve. I thought the four game redshirt rule was a great idea that would benefit less talented NCAA athletes like those in the MAC by extending their athletic careers. Upon first glance, however, it's being exploited by athletes from the G5 that are looking to find better homes in the P5 conferences.
Personally I detest such actions but I suppose it is the way of the world in a free society just like free agency and early departures in professional sports are.
I was a critic of Creighton redshirting nearly all of his freshman classes. Not anymore.

Agree.
Redshirt is one year. Playing 4 games is the 2nd redshirt year. Transfer sitout is year #3.
That doesn''t sound appealing to me.

The case of Caylin Newton:
True junior. Excellent player on a mediocre FCS team which has a new coach and struggling.
Think he wants to redshirt this year and transfer.
