Yes Nickle they are. Buffalo lost too much from last years team but I still fear them far more than Akron, which needs a total rebuild from Bowden. We have a great draw this year with respect to cross-division scheduling.

I watched the CMU-WMU game today and was very surprised. CMU still plays some pretty good defense despite losing their All MAC defensive end to U-M. Their offense is anemic like last year but is very young and Pimpleton, their transfer receiver is very talented. Western is extremely talented and should indeed be favored when we play them.

The thing that struck me the most is that both teams were very undisciplined and the amount of penalty flags was incredible! CMU's youth makes this reasonably understandable. By contrast, Western has the most returning starters in MAC, but today they were "Holding and Personal Foul University" in their own stadium against an inferior opponent. That is on the coach, I question how effective Lester is.

I'm with Glory Days, Toledo, once again, is the team to beat.

Coastal Carolina tied 21-21 on the road against a good Appalachian State team. App State is coming off a win against UNC who almost took down #1 Clemson today.

If we can win in MT P, and beat Ball St, the game on the 19th against W Mich could be the biggest home game since the late 80's! Then at Toledo on the 26th! Any opinions regarding if we win the next 2 weeks?

If I was a betting man, I would say we finish out 5-3 the rest of the way to finish up 8-4 safely securing that. Saying that, after watching that gross CMU-WMU game, I think we have a good as shot as anyone to win our division. I think we beat CMU and Ball St. and lose a tight one to WMU. (Either way I figure we win 2 out of the next 3).

Honestly we should 100% expect to win the next two games, neither opponent is very good. We, like Lions fans, have just adjusted our expectations to a lower level than they truly need to be.

We just got outplayed by a FCS team after a long weather break but we WON the game, much like Clemson survived North Carolina this weekend. Winners win and losers often console themselves with the effort that they expend in keeping the game close, which has been us for the previous two years. NIU the perennial MAC powerhouse has beat us the last two years in overtime because their players are used to success and ours are not.

It is time to expect that we win every MAC game we play in this season. Toledo is the only team that I would consider superior to us at this point. My opinion only, of course.

Jerry, great analysis as always!!!!! I agree on paper, we should beat C Mich and Ball St!!!! W Mich is a pick em game, and Toledo being away from home will be challenging!!!! Can you imagine if all goes our way E Mich 6-1 vs Toledo 6-1, essentially for the MAC west title!!!! That would be arguably if it happens the biggrdt regular season game ever in E Mich football history!!!!!!
