If he ends up at a high profile school (Oklahoma?) for next year tampering will definitely be suspected. Ohio State junior safety Isaiah Pryor just entered the portal. Afraid there might be more of this mid-season activity than in the past.

OOOHHH...

Talk about penthouse to the outhouse.

In a matter of a couple of years, they went from talking CFP to losing to Tulane and having their one-man-team QB waking away.

Now, he's apparently staying. At least that's what he's saying. It'll be interesting to see if others on the team follow suit. If so, they might be looking at scholarship shortages in a couple of years.

Edit: WR Keith Corbin also following suit. I can't wait for tanking to become the next great college football tradition!

Lose on the road to Tulane and the season goes down the toilet LOL. As I posted in another thread - it may turn out to be a blessing to not have to play Tulane or SMU this year in the west.

Agreed. I like players having more options, but this is getting ridiculous.

I have to say as much as I hate the man I think Harbaugh and his 1 transfer per player per career is probably what the NCAA needs. Whether it’s after your freshmen year or as a graduate 1 and that’s it.

Conference realignment ruined college athletics, friends. Wish we could enter the portal out of the AAC.

Also, what does the transfer portal have to do with this? He would be taking advantage of the new redshirt rule and then simply using the graduate transfer rule that's been in place for awhile now.

He gone. Most important leadership position on team, and he quits. How can he come back?

The graduate transfer rule evolved away from the academic reasons it was intended. Now if King and Corbin transfer or remain at Houston next year in my opinion the red shirt rule is being manipulated from its intended purpose for injured players and those not currently getting playing time. Will we start to see more individual players and coaches start to sacrifice one season in hope of a higher profile future one.

Throwing away 20-25% of competing for the other 80 guys on the roster for the chance at the 1st overall pick in the draft makes sense, right?

Just get it over with and save the time and slap Houston with a lack of institutional control violation now and save us all a few years of booster controlled athletic department hijinx.

This is all the result of the "Those Pooooooor kids" movement. You know, those poor souls who are receiving a free college education while being treated like kings yet are being exploited by those money grubbing universities.

While yes, the universities are in fact money grubbers, when you give in to the complainers and change the rules, everyone immediately starts abusing the rules. It started with Shabazz Napier having the muchies at night and now Houston's whole team is redshirting because they suck.

Just wait until they start paying them.

This all began in Nineteen-dickety-two. We had to say "dickety" because the Kaiser had stolen the wold "twenty". I chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles.
