Glass was off target last drive. Dervil and Sow out and out fighting.
I said to my wife, we can only win with a blocked punt. Boom.

RE: Gsme Day: CCSU
We were awful after the weather delay except for one play, and that was the only one that mattered. A lot to be worried about, but at least we won. This should be a wake up call heading into MAC play.
Also, if we can’t run the ball, or at least threaten with the run, our offense is incredibly predictable. A Big Ten team couldn’t figure it out, but an FCS team did a great job jumping our routes and forcing Glass to improvise. And it wasn’t pretty in the second half.
But we have a week to adjust, and we are 3-1. It could be way worse.

We are roughly 33 point favorite. Ov/Un 63 points.
Projected score would be 48 - 15.
BTW, the final was 63 points. Bettors went crazy, I bet....

Sam, big story is that we are winning these cardiac games this year...

I guess. But Central Connecticut State shouldn’t be a cardiac game to begin with. I’m hoping it was just a letdown after the high of beating Illinois in dramatic fashion. However, there have been some themes to all of our games, especially on defense. A little worried about MAC play, but we are 3-1 for the first time since 2016, so I’ll drink to that tonight.

Secondary looked terrible. Central missed on at least 2 long passes that would have gone the distance.
Tackling looked terrible. Bad play calling especially in the last 10. Central's lines were better than Eastern's. Just should never happen at this level.
Glad they won, but that was Ron English ugly right down to the fight on the sideline.

RE: Gsme Day: CCSU
A win is a win.......it's never over till it's over......etc, etc.
Kudos to the team for never giving up, and what an amazing play by Sexton! Great play in the Senior season of a really nice career.
Now for the reality check. First game I've actually had the pleasure of watching this year. As I said last week, the lack of a running game will likely be this team's downfall. Today's game, and the inability to run it against that team, even more concerned than ever. 29 carries for 94 yards, 3.2 average. Come on OLine, man up and block somebody. At some point you've just got to line up and beat the guy across from you.
Defense.....certainly a big drop off from the last 2 years. No penetrators/playmakers inside, DE's weak against run and lacking pass rush, LB's a big dropoff from last year, DB's & Hoying only thing holding this together, and today even they were shaky.
After watching it up close, MAC title seems like a pipe dream..........although not impossible because the MAC stinks this year.
Hoping this really can be chalked up to a letdown from last week, looking past a supposed overmatched opponent, and a wake up call for MAC play.
Guess we'll find out at CMU after an extra week to make a lot of corrections. Cheers EMU fans!!!!

Two Eastern linemen (defensive?) I missed the names.

I am happy for the team and Matty Sexton. Beydoun may have had a breakout game.
But it should never have been this close. I hope the coaches (looking at you Patton) re-consider how the do things.
Want to see more more Karmi.

Frankly I thought we sucked today.
Our vaunted secondary got torched and it actually could have been worse if the CCSU quarterback had been more accurate.
Glass was inaccurate passing and when he ran the ball, those runs were of little or negative gains.
CCSU was extremely committed to winning this game as witnessed by their decision to go for two after their first TD. We were not as dedicated in my opinion.
Nevertheless a W is a W and we may have learned more from this game than we did at Illinois.

Cant disagree with anything, Jerry, except maybe the last part. We are probably somewhere between the Illinois high and the CCSU low. I think we can beat anyone on our schedule, but also lose to anyone as well...except maybe Akron. They’re awful.
