FIU could easily win 5 straight UMass, Charlotte, UTEP, MTSU, Old Dominion

Charlotte will be a shootout.

A win is a win and the Dawgs got it. Now Tech can sit back and watch the rest of the conference today.

Sounds like an early vote for quality-loss-of-the-week. FIU could be moving back up the conference rankings this week!

Okay, I don’t see how anyone could say FIU didn’t get totally robbed on that opening “no-TD” rush by Anthony Jones. Both announcers said it was a TD. Their whole production team said it was a TD. Everyone in my house said it was a TD. That 7-point swing made a huge difference.

Then you get the play where La Tech obviously false-started, refs don’t call it, our guys aren’t moving because they are expecting a whistle, and then La Tech scores a TD and our preseason defensive player of the year for C-USA gets hurt on the same plays and is maybe out for the year. Are you kidding me? Like these two plays alone are just monumental blunders. I hate blaming officiating. I want to think the game wouldn’t come down to just this, but there is no denying our defense it totally different with Sage Lewis in the game and those seven points on the board.

I was glad to see FIU finally look somewhat like the team I thought they would be. La Tech has some powerful RBs. They simply wore our defense down. But again, I’m left wondering “what if”... C-USA, fix your officiating. It’s terrible.

Everybody in your house said so? Oh my! We gave you a chance at the end by not jumping on the onside kick. But your guys didn't get on the ball, so Amik just picked it up and ran it in the endzone. Next.

You don’t think it was a TD? The only people I’ve seen say that were La Tech fans.

He lost control of the ball before it broke the plane. No TD, sorry. But we'll get the conference on the phone to let them know that your entire household stands unwavering in vehement disagreement on this one. Next.

RE: *** FIU@LA Tech***
The refs had to decide if the player had possession of the ball.

The announcers never any mention that, Yes the ball did cross the plane but there was no way to tell if he had possession or a grip on the ball.

If anyone can produce a shot of the player gripping the ball please show it if not the refs made the right call.

It wouldn’t matter anyway because it is wasn’t the ref’s fault an FIU O-lineman punched a player and gave Tech excellent field position.

FIU has got some rotten apples and I’m surprise Butch Davis doesn’t have better control over them

Telephone call to CUSA office...
Fish: Hey, is this Judy?
Judy: Yes it is, and who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?
Fish: This is Fish
Judy: Who?
Fish: Fishy Fish!
Judy: Who?
Fish: Fish, from the internet message board. Anyways, I wanna let you know that ya'll messed us up last night with that non-touchdown call and my whole family is pissed off about it. Grandma didn't get any sleep at all last night.
Judy: Well, I believe the game officials watched the replay several times for at least 10 minutes or more and couldn't conclusively find a way to award a touchdown.
Fish: Look, I talked to my whole family about it and we all watched it on the Visio 42" big screen. He was in!
Judy: Well Mr Fish, I don't know what to tell you except, maybe your kickoff unit should probably learn how to execute an onside kick better. Have a good day sir and thanks for your call.
Fish: Hello? Are you still there? Hello?

If it was call a TD on the field there wouldn't have been enough to overturn that call either.

Anyways FIU is going to win some games in the East probably 5 straight. Hopefully Sage Lewis can return this year

They were just straight up bad. We got away with some stuff. The fumble was going to be called whatever it was called on the field, no ref signaled a TD. If it were, it probably would have stood.
They hardly made a call on the lines all night. FIU D jumped at least 3 times in the first half with no call, one lead to a negative play. FIU’s OLine held multiple times allowing for Morgan to make some big plays, no call. FIU got away with targeting in the red zone near the end as well.

No use getting worked up over it. But they were aweful tonight. Time to move on to the next game, good luck going forward. I hope you make bowl eligibility.

Congratulations to LA Tech. Always glad to see a western division team pick up a win over an eastern team.

FIU fans that feel a little cheated this morning, I understand if you want to be bitter for a while. That was some really questionable officiating last night in Ruston. But, having said that, I don't know that those bad or missed calls would have made enough difference in the score. I just hope our administration is making sure that officiating crew doesn't work our game when North Texas takes the field at LA Tech.

If they would have called it a TD on the field it would have not been reversed either. It was a very close call. I'm just surprised that we actually got more breaks from the lousy CUSA refs - usually doesn't go that way for us. J'Mar running the ball more will help us

With the exception of a couple of throws, Morgan was very scary. Surgical, methodical, he was picking and choosing open receivers at will.

Not sure what to make of that run defense though. I don't think we are that good at running the ball, so that could be big trouble for FIU this season. Hopefully we are that good at running the ball!

Here is a side note. This game was on CBS Sports SN---right? This morning I go to CBSsports.com and the FIU-TECH game has a box score and recap but NO video highlights. Just below the score are scores from three other games which were on FS1 and ESPN2---all three have video highlights. I am on the CBS site! Why do we put up with this stuff. This should be brought to the attention of the conference office. Sad.

Just wanted to see a couple of highlights from the game.
