You know....the other one. I think their colors are orange and blue and they've got a silly hand signal. Didn't Joe Greene play there?

Fair. I’ve wanted to go to Texas my whole life. One of these days I’m making a football road trip

By all means, come, visit, have a great time, spend lots and lots of money. Just don't plan on staying . .

You left out no trip to that part of Texas is complete without visiting the salt lick
What's the salt lick?

One of the top ten best BBQ spots in TX.
Original is in Dripping Springs near Austin and we used to road-trip up from Rice for real BBQ.
Now it’s a chain and even the duplicates are pretty good. DFW airport even has one, worth a side trip if you’re connecting thru there.

This is just lazy reporting by ESPN. North Texas does not belong in the same conversation as UTEP and UTSA. We came within a last minute drive of upsetting #23 Cal on the road last week, and we are coming off back to back 9 win seasons. We are not a bottom 10 team.

Original Salt Lick is very good. Been a while, want to compare it to Cooper's in Llano.

If you're into Tex-Mex, try El Chaparral in Helotes and north San Antonio - owned by a couple of ex Niner great soccer players.

Ad over, you may resume smack.

Fair.

I'm also not sure we belong in the same conversation with UTEP either. We suck but I don't think we are 0-12 or 1-11 bad. We aren't talent starved like them.

Texans don't argue about brisket with each other. We pretty much all agree that Carolina bbq sucks.

Havent been able to eat brisket since visiting there. No place in this part of the country can touch it. I visited it during February. Would love to go there on a weekend. Very cool place.

I live by the Round Rock Salt Lick. It’s ok. I prefer Black’s in Lockhart or Cooper’s in New Braunfels.

This 100%! I’m not a Salt Lick fan. It’s a cool place, lots of ambiance, what people think of when seeing “Texas BBQ Joint”. I’ve just been disappointed too many times with quality to put at the “Make a trip” level.

I’m in agreement with your other options. I’d throw a couple more in and you have a fine list started.

Also I would like to suggest a distinction between satire and so called lazy reporting.

That is all.

No, wait, that’s not all.

Even though it’s a chain I really do enjoy me some Rudy’s BBQ wet brisket.

eh. Salt Lick has a lot of name recognition, and it's a fun experience, especially with a group. but the food is subpar.

Yep, it is positively ot better than San Antone!

Hey Gallos, I haven't posted here in ages. I've been at war with the Leftists/commies on the Spin Room and protecting my country was occupying my time...but I'mmmm bbaaacck.

Some North Kore....North Texan was saying that UTEP wasn't a Tier One school. Heck, we don't need 39k students to get that we only need 20k+ to achieve that. Yes, North Texas we're Tier One and we have Ms. Natalicio for that.
