If someone looked only at what was lost as far as scoring and rebounding then I can see how they might come to that conclusion. The problem is they did not look at what UTEP has coming in and what has been in the program and sitting out for the past year.

Anthony Tarke- 1st team all conference from the ASUN,
Bryson Williams- 3rd team all conference in the MWC, rated a top 5 D1 transfer in 2018
Tydus Verhoeven- Led the A10 in blocked shots as a freshmen with 71, 3* guy coming out of high school
Souley Boum- WCC all freshmen team, 3* rated coming out of high school
Eric Vila- former Texas A&M commit, 3* rated from Spain. Played last two years at North West Florida State
Kaden Archie- Played 10 games at TCU, was a 4* rated player out of high school and 247 top 100 player national
Deon Stroud- rated as 3* guy by ESPN

UTEP will be 10 deep this year when you add our three retuning players. The team is very big as all the guards are 6'4" to 6'6" and quick. This UTEP team will not be like any UTEP team in the past ten years. It is my opinion that this is the most talented team UTEP has had since 2005. Street and Smith's ranks UTEP #3 in CUSA.
I knew y'all had some talent sitting last year. I didn't realize it was this much.
And he’s missing or forgot to include LSU grad transfer Edwards who will be seeing a lot of minutes early in the season. Also former four star Xavier transfer Kennedy will sit out this year but is expected to be a big contributor next season

Meh, its preseason. Im okay with it. Personally, i think we will be better than FIU and UTSA, but it is what it is.

1 - WKU
2 - ODU
3 - La Tech
4 - MTSU
5 - UTSA
6 - FIU
7 - Marshall
8 - UAB
9 - FAU
10 - USM
11 - UNT
12 - Rice
13 - Charlotte
14 - UTEP

How is UTEP last?, thought they had a bunch of high talent transfers sitting out, am I missing something? La. Tech 3rd is perplexing, they lost two of their best players to transfer....I think UNCC should be higher, they will be improved.....Southern MIss lost a lot from last season, FAU is getting there...Surprised MTSU is high and UTSA is not second....

We actually get both Jean and X back from injury. I think only Druji transferred - Bracy is still on the team for his senior year. 3rd maybe too high

LA Tech's big improvement will likely come from McNeese St transfer Kelob Ledoux. He's a big deal. To quote the article below, "Ledoux sat out the 2018-19 season due to the NCAA Division I transfer rule. He held offers from perennial men’s basketball power Gonzaga, traditional power Indiana, as well as Missouri, UNLV, Virginia Tech, Nevada, who played in the Sweet 16 this year, and a few others. It had been thought that the Port Barre native would be heading to Gonzaga as late as last month, before deciding to stay closer to home."

Ledoux is a 6-3, 215, guard, and averaged 15 points per game for McNeese St in 2017-2018.
