Since EMU has rebuilt it’s team into a far stronger one, believe EMU will produce far better stats on each side of the court.
That remains to be seen. Once again I need to point out that other MAC schools have scholarships too. Many of them with a stronger group of returning players and yes some with better recruiting results than us so far. We may improve but other teams may improve more. That is a strong possibility.

we pay our coaches to coach and the other guys pay their coaches to coach.
I think all the unknown makes the season really exciting. No one knows whats going to happen and its going to be really neat to see it all shake out. ten of us could make ten different predictions about how this team will look or perform and all ten of us could be wrong

Very true, but it’s still fun doing so, and reminding posters at the end of the season who was on and who was not.

Agreed. It’s next to impossible to predict how these guys will do together. Thankfully, it looks like we’ve brought in some talented players. Really excited to see Savicevic play. Probably my favorite film package of any recruit of ours that I’ve watched in a longggg time. It’ll be nice to see some offensive creativity.

RE: Unofficial 2021 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Somehow I find myself simultaneously agreeing with all 10 different predictions...
But I say with certainty that the backcourt is going to be a very solid 2-deep rotation. I agree with Sam, Luka might actually be a jewel coming in here. Based on his video, he does it all VERY impressively: ball-handling, passing, penetration, and shoots the 3. The only real question is how does he perform defensively in American style of play. After that, McBride and Scott are solid MAC starters. While Spottsville will at least be a defensive bulldog (and make occasional awkward drives to the basket that somehow work), and Rice will at least score the 3. Not sure if Clements is ready to provide anything, or will even be needed to until Scott and Spottsville leave the following year.
With this backcourt, it is no longer a question of rebuilding, but how quickly do they gel and learn the system, and how much can we get out of the frontcourt.

RE: Unofficial 2021 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
Both Scott and Rice are triple threat players, as both can shoot 3-ball, shoot off the dribble, and get to both the hoop and the foul-line a lot. Both averaged more than 5 rebounds per game, and made steals at a high rate. Both are scary in the open court.
Luka and McBride, both solid shooters, when playing with Scott and Rice should find themselves with many open looks. Having played on his national team, believe Luka will have no trouble adapting to the American style of play.

Spottsville is not a real offensive threat especially from the outside McBride is not a true point can't comment on Scott's ability at point seems more of a shooting guard Luka may have more experience than most true frosh but it will probably be up and down playing true point Clements and the team would be best served redshirting him.

a bit out of the thread but Barbee the new CMU coach isn't a slouch at recruiting as CMU has signed 3 transfers in three days.

I am trying to think of true frosh who made an impact at point guard their first year. Two come to mind CJ Grathom and Earl Boykins. Hopefully Luka will do well. On Rice I love the fact that we have him for four years. Hopefully his D2 JUCO stats translates well to our level. We had Green who was a first team JUCO D2 from Lansing Community College who has some impressive stats at that level.

That's some recruit! Had offers from Dayton, Providence, Toledo, and Xavier! Those are big boy schools! His 88 rating is almost A 4 star! Remind you of anyone out of high school, but different circumstances! JTIV type of offers! He might start next season! Centerville won the state championship this year! Phenomenal get! This's how you win MAC championships!

RE: Unofficial 2021 Men's Basketball Recruiting Thread
What stood out to me in reviewing MAC stats is there were a number of MAC teams that average 75 plus points per game. Lots of good perimeter scorers. But no MAC team held opponents to scoring less than 70 ppg.
Have to see if EMU’s bigs led by Njie (big-time commitment, attended extra year of post HS in Florida) can help hold teams to averaging less than 70 ppg. Think they can. Sense that EMU’s front court best interior defenders will be young and efficient scorers off of dunks, but won’t score a lot of points. That’s fine as EMU should have strong scorers in the backcourt.
Not sure if Njie or Randle will average most blocks.
Also hopeful that EMU’s defensive schemes will be quite good.
EMU’s backcourt should have a few players who can and will distribute the ball in a really good offensive system.
Scott, Rice, Luka, and McBride can all score. Believe another good guard will be added. Can see EMU playing four guards at times if front-court players not scorers.
I sense Rice who averaged 25.3 ppg at Delta College is an unconscious player. Took more than 30 fga’s in some games. If you include his trips to the foul-line he averaged close to 22 fga’s per game. About 45 percent of his shots were three’s. He’s capable of shooting 8-16 on three’s. Delta College averaged 87 points per game.

If so he is a solid pick up. Was drawing interest from other schools think bigger than his offer sheet. Another foundation building block player. I think he is more ready physically than Randle.
If everything is as it looks, once again it shows the value of going fishing after others have caught their limit.
Plenty of big fish in the waters.

I assume he was a 2020 grad. Where was he 2020/21?
DME Sports Academy prep got offer from Kansas St on May 12 someone claimed he had offers from VCU Xavier and Dayton these may have offers out of high school 2020 because his May 12. 2021 tweet about Kansas St says its his first offer while he was in prep school
