Impeaching Trump is a dead-cat for Democrats, but they seem unable to walk away from it.

The Manhattan DA just subpoenaed like 8 years of Trump’s tax returns. The smart play for Nadler’s Committee would be to support that effort instead of trying to jump in the spotlight themselves.

There is a precedent. Republicans impeached lowlife bill who actually did lie and have sexual improprieties in office. And the dems won the next election

Clinton’s impeachment came after the mid-terms. The impeachment hearings had been happening before that, but the vote of the Judiciary Committee and of the full House came in December.

Schumer took out Al D’Amato in the 1998 elections. Try as I might, I’ve never been able to stay angry at Chuckles about that for very long.

I watched a lot of it. That hearing was a complete fuster cluck. The Dems aren't doing themselves any favors.

Most of the HOR are not qualified to cross examine a witness. The House Judiciary Counsel Barry Berke on the other hand lit up Lewandowski. Hopefully Nadler et al will learn a lesson and leave this role to the trained prosecutors.

Eh, he was certainly better, but he was still way too easy on him. Letting that smug ******* shamelessly promote his book was ludicrous and had no place in a committee hearing.

If “Nadler et al” were capable of learning lessons, we would be in a very different place, both as a government and as a society.

Worth mentioning that Nadler was chosen to be the Democrats’ leader on this Committee two years ago after Conyers resigned. There was one other leading candidate (Zoe Lofgren from a San Jose-area district) and the Dems picked Nadler (118-72) mostly because (so he said) he could organize the impeachment of Trump more effectively than anyone else.

IF the Dems on that Committee had brains, they'd probably take them out and play with them.
