Dan Enos: “Central Michigan didn’t put its heart & soul into Dan Enos”
CMU should use his picture for target practice

I never got riled about him like some did. At the very least, he brought some good recruits in.

I never understood his coaching trajectory. He was like 0-4 vs Toledo at CMU, then lost to us again has the OC for Arkansas. I liked the guy 02-13-banana

Ironic Enos said that since he chose to live in Midland and not Mt. Dismal.

Talk about not putting your "heart and soul" into a place.

RE: Dan Enos: “Central Michigan didn’t put its heart & soul into Dan Enos”
4 years before Enos:
- 2006, 2007, and 2009 MAC champions
- No fewer than 8 wins every season
- Finished the season ranked #22 in 2009
- Produced a ton of NFL talent
- 4 bowl appearances
- 4-0 over WMU

4 years with Enos:
- Back to back 3-9 seasons
- 1 bowl appearance
- 2-2 over WMU

I would hardly say Enos put his heart and soul into the program. He played scared and cost us several games. There is a reason everyone hated him as a coach.

That was weird. If his grievance is that he was putting more of his heart and his soul into Chippewa football than the university administration, say that. Why make it about himself?

The situation was that one of the reasons he left was because he wanted an early extension of his contract after going 26-36 over five seasons without ever winning even a division title. That’s basically what he’s whining about here, that he was trying really hard and the administration wasn’t willing to hand him an early extension like a participation trophy. After five years of mediocre football it was time to put up or shut up and apparently Enos felt that wasn’t fair. The guy doesn’t have the personality or the fortitude to be a head coach. He should stick to running outdated offenses schemes.

RE: Dan Enos: “Central Michigan didn’t put its heart & soul into Dan Enos”
Enos is a perfect example of someone you don’t hire to be coach for a MAC program: someone who doesn’t really want to be there and wants to be a P5 coach in 2 years so doesn’t put in effort because he expects the MAC to be a cakewalk, and is then surprised when they get blasted by even average MAC teams and finish 3-9.

Good MAC coaches enjoy their time there and know the MAC can be a tough conference. Most of the successful programs coaches have a vision for the program itself, not just themselves

A lot of similarities between him and Chuck Martin imo, just the programs they inherited.

Personality-wise, both think they're too good for their MAC schools. Sour attitude. Underachieving teams. Latest example is below, not to mention the "idiot fans" and "too cheap to buy a trophy" comments from last year, plus his previous belittlement of our chances against any decent team...

Holy moly. What a terrible thing to say.

I hope Chuck Martin never wins another MAC game.

I just listened to his press-conference where he talks about "too cheap to buy a trophy" and "idiot fans."

What a scumbag.

Not going to win the MAC with that attitude. That's why you guys haven't done better then 6-6 with him. Surprised you haven't fired him yet, TBH. 5 years and the best is 6-6. No wonder why.

I've been penciling you guys to give Ohio a challenge for the MAC East, expecting you guys to get good, because of his success at Grand Valley St, but now I doubt it.

The university's probably penciling the same, and appears they don't doubt it yet.

That kind of attitude gets .500. He might know the Xs and Os to get to .500, but appears he lacks that extra oomph to get anything more. He'll always lose to the Buffalos, Ohios, and Akrons.

Hope we embarrass him when he comes to Kalamazoo in a few weeks. (Sorry, but you'll probably thank me after he's fired)

**** him

He isn't wrong about the talent gap...

If I was a coach, I would say it's like playing a team who gets 2 out of every 3 picks. To make my own guys realise... It's Ohio State, but I still want the guys I have. Their starting 22 are only better than 11 of my dudes???

Idk. Nevermind. Just dont do the reference.

I agree that comment was understandable. What I don't like about it, though, is it's full of negativity. Seems like everything he says is pessimistic. I hear other coaches say similar things like that, but they know how to spin it, 'we have a lot of fight in us tho and we're going to keep getting better' and ****.

It's the 'crap league' and 'crap fans' comments that's crossing a line.

Hasn't been fired due to buyout and the state of the program when he took over. At this point it needs to be better, but that's how it is.

Btw DJ Durkin, the guy fired at Maryland for abusing players, was reportedly the runner up back in 2013. What a swell group.
