You can always tell when they trip over themselves running to defend their sweet tar holes any time someone dares to question their superiority.
That, and the rationalization of all the cheating, condescension and general terribleness of the university

Being born and raised in Charlotte, I’ve never heard a UNC alum or fan tote about being superior to App in football. Most the alums I know actually don’t follow their football team at all. UNC hasn’t won their conference in almost 40 years, if you’ve ever heard someone make a comment about App football being inferior, let that fact leave you assured we are North Carolina’s team for football.
Did this really get posted?

That’s the point. Beating those bast*rds isn’t just about beating their football team.....its about shoving it up their spoiled rotten fanbase’s *ss.

You're no talking to the same people I have the past 40 years.
No, I haven’t been. All the people I know as UNC alum or fans weren’t even born the last time UNC won their conference.
Do not confuse my posts with me saying I’m not happy we won, a win over a power 5 school, especially in our state is huge.
Now if we played them in basketball and won, yeah... that’s real f***** big, and I would understand shoving it in their faces
Let’s be honest, you can substitute UNC fans with NCState fans in the above statement about superiority and it would it would be just as correct. That program has accomplished less than UNC over its history and they believe they are NCs #1 football school. Both could be taken down a peg or two. Smh
Couldn't agree more. I was at the App NCSU game in 2006 and was tailgating with some NCSU people. Talking about ECU and their program at the time. One guy said " They (ECU) need to know their place" I was dumbfounded at that and haven't forgotten it, like it's a birthright or something to be blessed to be a NCSU alum or UNC.

Interesting ruminations off Yosef's Cabin, Roof may have not called the defensive schemes for this game.

Roof was in the booth and Gasparato was on the field, but Roof still called the game. There was some tinkering done during the bye week, which for the most part worked out. I remember that in 2013, Woody went to the booth for the last two games and App won both after being 2-8.

RE: Game Thread: App @ Chapel Hill
Some perspective on the P5's App played since Michigan. Those 11 teams went a combined 102-45 and all but one of those teams had a winning record, that being 2014 Michigan. Add on two ECU games while App was in FCS, there's an extra 17-10 to throw on top, two more CUSA East Division titles and a CUSA Championship, back when CUSA was much stronger.
Out of those 11+2 losses, App damn-near won four of them, three of those near-hits being from 2016-2018.

About ten minutes into this podcast these Tar Heel elitists / smug jackwagons, bring up why even schedule App St or these "types" of teams. Then a few minutes later try and sell UNC tshirts so the take over of their stadium doesn't look so bad on TV.....
Calling these guys Charmin soft would be disrespectful to the fine folks who make Charmin. These guys are off-brand toilet paper soft. You know the kind that leaves little white specks on your booty.

I used to work with an NC State grad. He never could understand why I disliked App. It wasn’t as much a love he had for App as it was a condescending tone that nobody really cares enough to hate App. He viewed our rival as “cute”.

You've never heard a UNC fan chuckle when you talk about App State football? There is one UNC graduate in my office and he's parading around like the loss was damaging to his subconscious. Apparently confused as to why so many App State fans were out in downtown Winston-Salem following the game as well. These people genuinely believe that all App fans and alumni reside in Boone or something.

Well Roof needs to stay there. I think he is a good coach and the team really seems to play for him and appreciate his work. The dynamic on the field seemed to work out well, considering App was apparently down to the 5th safety on the roster by the end. That's three deep territory in a position group that already lost two guys.
Also something many of you may have missed, Clifton Duck was on the sideline for the game.

Never, maybe I’ve been lucky that the UNC fans I know are also knowledgeable of their schools standing and capability. When it comes to basketball, I don’t entertain the idea of App beating them or if they are being smug, because they normally do have a good team and I don’t care about college basketball that much

I honestly don't know any Holes fans that care about anything except men's basketball - with the exception of this one girl I went to high school with who worshipped their womens soccer team.
I really only hear the smug during basketball season. Most Holes fans I know were suprised UNC would schedule App. Because why would UNC schedule a definite loss?

RE: Game Thread: App @ Chapel Hill
P5 teams really only care and know about P5 teams. The exceptions are when a G5 team becomes nationally known with wins over P5 teams (consistently) and get into the Top 25 from time to time.
Boise is doing it - so is UCF. App State is doing what they need to do - like winning the SunBelt year over year, and finally cracking the top 25, and beating P5 teams. If they somehow manage to beat South Carolina and get back into the Top 25 it will help. But again, they have to do it year after year.
Hard to do - but so far so good for App State. They need to keep atop the Sun Belt for a couple more years and win their out of conference games to keep in the ranking discussions.
